I've just found the most glorious thing I've ever heard. This is Classic Scifi plus Firefly plus Country plus a healthy dose of Awesome, and its name is Carmen Miranda's Ghost. Be warned - this stuff will pluck your heartstrings like nothing else.
A sample:
If you like this, go check out the rest of the album, its amazing.

I didn't see a music thread so I figured I'd start one. (Apologies if one already exists.)
What music have you been listening to lately, that you wish more people knew about?
For me, I'm really enjoying Hozier's new album, in particular the songs Be and NFWMB.
Also, the other day I discovered a Youtube musician that absolutely
shreds
on the hurdy-gurdy. His videos are awesome.
Check 'em out
if you wanna see a 1000-year-old instrument played like it's 2019.

Thanks for the hurdy-gurdy reference, oripoke - love that instrument! And I think we do already have some music threads, one for filk, one for discussion among musicians, and one for 'music that fits SSSS'.

I'm pretty sure there's a music thread somewhere but it's hard to check on my mobile

I have returned and all shall tremble before my awful musical taste!
I recently stumbled over this astonishing (for every meaning of that word) remix of Sigue Sigue Sputnik's

In an attempt to get a little more involved with the SSSS community again, allow me to present Blue and Gold by Mother Falcon. Did you know that there's a genre called Orchestral Pop?

And sorry about the double post, but it just occurred to me that I should share this music stream I listen to:
It's called
Brave New Faves
and it involves a few late-night (for this timezone) shares of recent songs the host wanted to share with others, typically followed by listener suggestions.

Purple Wyrm
, that sure was something! :0
Rhynerd
, that's really pretty! I did not, in fact, know that Orchestral Pop was a thing, but it's not too surprising. I love weird genre mixes so I hear a lot of interesting combos.
I just rediscovered this song and oh wow all my anxiety is melting away. It's so beautiful and relaxing.
