....I could have made things easier for myself.... Ah well. Defy the conventional! (I think that's my university's motto or something) What's the point of having an avatar if it's an image of something that is supposed to be an avatar? 
(These are actually pretty good avatars though, thank you).

There were a lot of great suggestions! Thank you so much! Unfortunately I can only go with one at a time. Some of them will definitely make my list for future avatars though! For now I am gonna have to go with....

Allow me to dust off this thread for my yearly costume change. I feel like it's tradition at this point, even if I'm the only one who would ever know if I skipped it! I finally managed to draw a pair of glasses, in any case:

Now I'm trying to remember what your previous avatar looked like. This ones very nice, a smile would have made it all that more nicer.
Too bad there's not an old avatar file to look at the changes that people make.

New year on the forum equals new avatar. I like that it's sort of a history of my artistic progress.



(Someday I'll figure out how to draw glasses so it can be a proper self-portrait.)

Fortunately, I make a post every year as well, so there is a record! Hah, would you look at that: "someday" came after all.
I only opted for a non-smile because I wasn't feeling very smile-y at that moment (I had a bad head-cold). Perhaps I'll tweak it as time goes on!
