Yeah, it was a bit too red for a waxwing! But since those are familiar to me, it was the species that came to mind :) And they are often pictured, and considered to be, quite red although the real color is much paler.

Checking the red cardinal I see you are spot on!

As I do own a 12 set of the Faber-Castell Polychromos colored pencils I tested if they feel like witchcraft too. I tried to draw a metallic surface (because tricky things are better tests) and came to the conclusion they feel like witchcraft of a higher order.
