Talking of bad tonal shifts in comics, I got into Unsounded without knowing what many of Ashley's fans already knew; and got a very nasty shock when the dark suddenly poured out on top of the weirdly (and slightly creepily) cute. I very nearly gave up, but, though it's darker than I normally like, I can't help but remain hooked.

I am very much hoping that Minna isn't a fan of Unsounded!
Unsounded is a very grotesque, but thrilling and engaging series.

Oh, Unsounded? Last week I binge-read the whole thing in less than a day. Awesome. I did pick a bad time, though, due to the month-long chapter break.

If tried Unsounded two times now, and I've given up again. I just can't stand Sette.

She gets better and there's good reasons for her attitude. But I understand you completely.

Sette is all kinds of awesome and three-dimensional. What a great character!

I suppose I didn't wait long enough for Sette to show her other sides. Maybe I'll give it another try when I've got spare time (like upcoming SSSS chapter breaks) because the artwork looks good and there are also other characters besides her.

This has gone rather off-topic. Maybe a mod could split it and move the Unsounded discussion to the General Discussion forum? Sorry I brought it up!

Done. So Unsounded gets to be the first one to have it's own actual thread... Let's hope it doesn't die.

Eh, we should kill it, make it undead, and then use it as an attack zombie against all the trolls. :P

And then listen Duanespeak for the rest of time?
Duane IS quite the charmer but I'm not sure I can handle it after a while.

One that I read that no one has mentioned yet is Breaking Cat News, wherein our three intrepid reporters bring breaking news coverage of such events like "There's a new picture on the wall," "The People bought a different kind of kibble," and "The trees are falling apart."

That was adorable.

I was told that Unsounded would be dark, like slavery and extreme violence dark, and I was fine with that. But no one told me that it would have been jars full of guts dark. I was alright even with that, but I gave up after a while. Mostly because I didn't like the plot and how dragged and senseless and complicated it was, but also because of the darkness of it.

Moral: I shouldn't ignore age ratings on comics. But I just know that I'm going to do it again.

BTW, what do you mean with Duanespeak? I don't find anything weird in it...

It's 1am, and I'm binge-reading on Goblins. I don't think I'll stop anytime soon.
