You argue in the comments about how the latest weapons the crew has look to be Kalash pattern rifles based off there being millions of them in storage, there's trillions of crates of ammunition all across europe (possible overestimation), resulting in them being cheap to acquire and cheap to feed (as in here's a box of x39, you should be able to find more out in the silent world easily enough), and that would make the pennypinchers in charge of things happy.
