Just caught up with Barbarous and that was a good read! I really like the art and the characters are interesting too. I tried getting into it some months back but got confused by the site layout and gave up, so I’m glad that it was recommended since it gave me a reason to try to read it again haha.

I first wen through a couple of the first years of the autobio strips, and the short comics, but started Barbarous now (read the first two chapters so far). I love the way magic is presented!

Oh and the short story with the ghost mice is sooo adorable!

Oooh, cool! Barbarous looks neat so far. I read the first chapter because I'm quite busy atm, but so far it feels like it'll be a story that explores some pretty interesting interpersonal relationships. Maybe that's a pretty broad stroke of a take, but it's been a while since I last read something like that.

I'll definitely continue once my schedule frees up a little!

Are we going to talk about these, beyond mentioning their existence and whether we like them or not? Presumably so; this isn't going to take us very far if all we're going to say is 'here's a neat comic'. But how, when some of us are caught up on any given work and others may not have started it, or may only be a few pages in? Shall we use spoilers for any more detailed discussion?

Thorny, I’ve been thinking the same! Not only on this thread but in general in the Worlds and Stories. It’s a lot easier when everyone is presumably on the same page, literally

I suggest we use spoilers. Also especially for ongoing comics we can start a dedicated thread.

I’m also caught up as of yesterday. It’s great!

I’m thinking this discussion could be moved to a thread of its own? There are many themes already and it’s a bit cumbersome to work with the spoilers especially as nested spoilers don’t work. Plus as Barbarous is ongoing, I hope we will keep following and discussing it after this month too. What do you think?

I thought nested spoilers did work? Didn't I just post one in post #42? Both my comment and the quoted one show up as spoiled to me.

However, aside from that: sure, let's have a thread for Barbarous. -- Judging by previous history, there may be a long gap between chapters; but the new chapter's just started, so it should have a while to go.

I would also like to invite further comments, the Barbarous storyline has its own thread which hopefully will go on as the comic does. But comments on earlier comics of the month are allowed on this thread, so anything you wish to say about Johnny Wander either now or later, is welcome here!

I still haven’t read all of the autobio comics, but I’ve particularly enjoyed the travel logs when they go to Japan and Hawaii

Actually, I might take October! I've been really busy in August and I'll be busy all through September, but in October I've got a bit of a breather between my mock exams and my final exams - seems like as good a time as any to talk about and read through a comic. I've definitely got one I'm thinking of. If that's good with everyone else here?
