Here is my "Wings"
And here is my "Hunted" (it's a bit of a ramble, sorry)
---Hunted---
They were coming. She could feel it. She wasn't going to last much longer out here. She honestly didn't know how she had lasted as long as she did. Those terrifying monsters straight out of a horror movie were hunting her, and she knew they would find her. Her poodle, Blip, had succumbed to that strange illness weeks ago and she had nearly died then and there. But she had escaped, and now she was hiding out in this city infested with those beasts with only her wits, a sharp spike she had crudely made herself and her cat, Chip. Poor Chip had been killed a few days earlier so she wouldn't have the advantage of a warning this time. She would just have to hide well, then. She was terrified. The fear seemed like a tangible thing, thick and slick and she was drowning in it and oh lord she just wanted it to end oh make it stop, please! She wrapped her arms around her legs, tears silently streaming down her face. She had wanted to be an architect. Design buildings for future generations to marvel at. She would never get that chance now. She had wanted to get married and start a family. She had wanted to travel the world. She had never stepped outside Finland but now it was too late. She had wanted to do so much, but she couldn't now. She could only dream. She stayed like that for a long time. Then she heard it. The loud sniffing outside of the door. She felt an icy calm flood her. She might be going down tonight, but she wouldn't be going down without a fight. She readied her spike. The walls trembled as something that looked like it might once have been some sort of paw when it had had fur on it smashed through the door. She readied her spike to impale whatever was on the other side of that door but stopped. The thing looked like a poodle, except for its eyes. Those were dark and lifeless. But it was wearing a collar. Blip's collar. She briefly looked into those eyes and saw that there was no more life in them. She raised her arms to strike, but that moment of hesitation had cost her. The Blip-thing burst through the door followed by a stream of hideous, deformed monsters that had once been animals. A surge of strength flew through her. She stabbed and stomped and punched. They dropped like flies. And it was because she gave herself one moment of exhilarating hope that she might live to see another day that she missed seeing the beast that had launched at her from behind. She barely had time to formulate the thought "Oh shi-" before everything went black.

I wake up and I don't know where I am. I look down and I see feathers and talons and wings. I'm pretty sure humans are not supposed to have wings. Then from the distance, a swan appears. I know I should follow. So I do.
"Where am I going?" I ask the Swan.
"To a nice place, little eagle. You'll be able to rest there. You'll be able to sleep." Sleep. That's nice. I'm so tired... It'll be nice to finally be able to rest.
