No love lost here.

So, the first of four hard choices.  Each has their moments in the comic, and they develop their skills.
Emil is occasionally inspired to offensive capability by panic, but it's not his first reaction.

He develops confidence later.


Onni is supposedly a defensive mage, but most of what he demonstrates is offense.


Or just plain offensive.


So this bout is Emil v Onni.  Only one can advance.  The countdown starts now.

I think my very favorite comment on SSSS is by magpiedragon on page 948:

Wow, a tie here, and a tight race on tumblr, too - Onni strong in the early going, then more recently Emil pulling ahead...

This is a nail-biter! I certainly wouldn’t have thought that the grumpy Finn would stand a chance against our resident pretty boy. Maybe it’s because our moderator is partial and left out his hair sparkles! Then again, Onni’s pinnacle of idiocy was included so I think that evens it out.

I had some of the sparkles in the G16 round, and if Emil advances, I have some in reserve, never fear.  I have images waiting for most of them, to be honest - will I get to use them all? No, but gosh I've fun.

For instance, if Onni advances, he gets to have his epic owl attack. Lalli & Reynir have big splashy ones as well, one of which will obv not get used now since they ended up against each other.
There are some great ones of various characters together, which may or may not get used if they are not in the same poll.

I've noticed that the crew smackdowns have been a lot more popular on tumblr than the minor character smackdowns!

Indeed, although there have been some outliers.  For instance, Round 2 on tumblr got 16-25 votes each, except for Tuulikki v Signe, with 58 votes!  No idea why, and it wasn't babby Lalli cutes that generated that, because Signe won (and went on to win against Sleipnope!).
