Considering that I occasionally drink f.ex. wine from small soup bowls, empty jam jars or straight from the bottle (I REALLY hate doing the dishes, if I'm planning on relaxing the dishes will have to wait) I say just get one anyway. For any drink at all, chocolate milk, orange juice, anything. Or you know... for soup... or cereal... Ok Laufey time to shut up before all the embarrassing secrets come out...

Oh! Mugs are also really good for eating kraft dinner (mac n cheese) out of :D

*goes back home for a few days*
*reaches for X-acto knife*

That sounds a lot more menacing than I meant it to, but in honor of fall, I wanted to try papercutting with leaves. Here are the results!

Spoiler: lots of leaves • show

Lalli from about a week ago.

Sigrun surrounded by fire.

SSSS symbol, of course

Cleansers cat-logo thing.

Verdict: cutting out leaves is hard because they break more easily than paper when dry, and you can't draw designs on them while wet. But it was really fun, and I think pretty successful.

Could it be the most unexpected compliment ?

Oh wow, thank you all! I hadn't expected to get replies on this so quickly. Patience and a steady hand is what it takes to keep the leaf from breaking, that's all. And practice. Always practice ;)

You have such talent with a knife!

...This is indeed a strange compliment, but thank you! Unfortunately, I'll be away from my knives (apparently they're weapons and so can't be kept in dorm rooms) until Thanksgiving. I should sign up for an art class just so I have access to their supplies...

I am here again with my glass. Don't have much time for big projects, so here are two my small magnets.

Denmark flag

Denmark flag by Olga Veresk, on Flickr

Materials: 7,5x5 cm glass, contours and colours for glass, foil.

And SSSStar!

SSSStar_4 by Olga Veresk, on Flickr

Materials: 4,5x3 cm glass, contours and colours for glass, foil.

Spoiler: some details • show

This was the first attempt. I painted it without any contours, just using colours.

SSSStar_2 by Olga Veresk, on Flickr

Then I added foil and violet colour, but did not like it. I think I'll buy another one. On photo it looks much better.

SSSStar_3 by Olga Veresk, on Flickr

So I washed off colours, and painted it again. And this what I finally have.
