Too good to pass up - Fred claiming B-Grade status on sheer erudition alone. (Recycling from a 'cat pictures on Shakespeare quotes' thread)
Three cats I have owned in the past, Greycat, Sandy and Old Spook, would have made Grade A, especially Greycat, who appointed herself guardian and protector of the two family members who most needed that, and would come and alert me if something was wrong with them.
My cat is definitely Grade D, being both old and about as intelligent as a sack of hammers.
What a splendid grade B cat you have!
I haven't put my cat through any official grading procedure, but I'm pretty sure he's grade D at best. I don't have his photo right now, but I'll post one as soon as it's available (which may take some time as I'm not going to be home until next weekend).
grade my cats you say? Hmm okay let's see...
My cousin and his family had one of those Doofus cats, which was very strange because his littersib was very bright indeed, and used to come up with strategies by which the pair of them could hunt birds and occasionally hunt dogs. The Doofus one was dim enough that while he had figured out that the humans would let you out if you wailed, he had never quite mastered the concept of ‘door’. So he would go to a random spot on the wall and wail until a human picked him up, took him to a door and put him outside.Oh no! Poor silly Doofus cat. That is hilarious ;D
So it's not an official Grade C-collar (I don't think there is one) but still:What magic is this :O You must have some phenomenal cat powers to keep that collar on long enough to take a photo! Truly, you were destined to be a cat trainer in the post-rash world!

I have materials so I might attempt to make a Grade B-collar sometime

harkrankar (which I still don't know the english name for but I agree that they're dangerous)
Crane flies I believe :)Ah yes. I look that up every now and then but then I forget it just as quickly ops :$
Temteno, it makes me so happy to see all those rescue cats. Ours came from the SPCA, and if I could I'd adopt every one - it's always full to bursting with lost or abandoned cats. But we live in a rather small cabin, and two cats are enough, especially as they're still fairly young and energetic.
I am very much enjoying all those Kitty-pictures and -stories.
Sadly, the only blessed felines I live with are stuffed animals... like the one you´re about to see (her name is Mimmi according to the label on her chest, and since I failed to come up with a better name, it still is, she resides on my couch. Very lazy cat, hasn´t really moved spots at all for about two years. In fact, only ever moves when I have to clean said couch. Grade D or lower.)
Ok but all jokes aside, I´m of course not posting here (just) to show off my fake cat. I´m posting because Vulpes asked for a SSSS-Kitty-collar, and I have made one (not owning a cat can´t stop me!), but since there were no actual kitties available, I have gotten my most closely kitty-sized-and-proportioned-stuffed-cat to model it for me instead. May I present, Mimmi, Grade B-cat-edition:

References I used include the entirety of Adventure 2, chapter 9.
Not as authentic as it could be, since thanks to that lovely pandemic out there I couldn´t go to buy good materials. I had to make due with what I had lying around, which is mainly old felt, leftover edging from the fabric we used to sew facemasks and one of these strings that are in new shirts to make sure they stay on the coat hangers. (These are actually really nice to work with, so would recommend.) To sort of make up for that, I decided to stitch everything. Now the thing would probably be sturdy enough to survive being worn by an actual, live cat that does not exist in my surroundings. (This is by no means a necessary step, I´m sure glue would get the exact same result, I just decided to make myself suffer. Why yes, there was something rather unpleasant and definitly more important I was actually supposed to be doing on that afternoon when I made this, what gave it away?)
I have so far not added some sort of closure for the collar in the front, since no frame I found had one, and now I´m seriously wondering how Kitty hasn´t lost hers yet. Maybe her fur is just so long that it hides it. I might add one later...
Aaaaah, brilliant! The most best way to procrastinate! It's lovely. And I have no idea how those are meant to stay on, either. The way they plopped the collar on Kitty when she graduated suggested magnets. :o
(No, go away mental image of a cat with magnets under it´s skin!)I note that, on one hand, Kitty did not stick to tanker troll, but on the other hand, it seems that Reynir could lift Kitty by that collar (https://www.sssscomic.com/comic2.php?page=201) ...

Reynir is holding Kisu by the skin of her neck, and the collar is behind that. There seems to be a flap, possibly for fastening, to the right (on Kisu’s left side) but if so, it’s definitely unfastened.
Isn't that her left front paw?
I think maybe it's Comic Magic that holds it on... :)
