I'm really loving all the halloween 'sonas, they are all fantastic! I really want to jump on this bandwagon, but I can't until my laptop is fixed. uuuuuugh

Until then all i can offer is this crappy doodle of fossegrim/strömkarl!Hanna to pass the time. from my research I'm pretty sure that the fossegrim are only male (hence the 'karl' in the Swedish name), but ohhh well. I just really like the folklore behind it okay. they are related to näcken/nøkken/etc which have suddenly become very popular, so you'll find a lot of similarities in the folklore.

The Fossegrim is described as a male water spirit or troll which lives in waterfalls and plays the fiddle. They are not always malevolent, but the sound of their music can lure women and children to their deaths and is usually played only for other spirits. However, with the right offerings the Fossegrim can be convinced to teach their skills - if the offering is satisfactory the spirit will draw their student's fingers across the strings of their violin until they bleed, after which they will be able to produce music so beautiful that "the trees shall dance and torrents in their fall stand still".

The Laufey has regained its knitting capabilities, even though we have no idea why. Also, it seems to have become a lecturer... maybe... to be honest we have no clue what's going on here either.

The Laufey has grown a new pair of arms for the express purpose of holding onto balls of yarn, and its fingers have turned into knitting needles. It has also developed Páll Óskar sparkles.

Oooh, so spooky! And YAY for art trades! I really like the coloring in this, and Swagger was rendered really well (black birds can be so hard to color, so I applaud you). You can tell you put a lot of time and thought into this, it really shows!

I'm happy you liked it! I'm getting more and more comfortable with my coloring and it's nice hearing that it shows! ^w^ For Swagger I was staring at pictures of ravens, trying to figure out how they were colored - birds are so difficult D=

She's a witch with invisibility powers based on the moon. Here, the moon's just a crescent, so she can only disappear a little bit. But on a full moon, she can disappear completely.

Have I ever said that Halloween is my favourite thing ever, I'm sure I must have done right? What you guys are producing is music to my soul and I love each and every piece ^_^ (even your "not actually a Halloween costume" costume skit Helia, it was super funny ). So yeah to Curry, Haiz, Ana, Caliopygous, AquaAurion, KauniitaUnia, Antillanka, Keeper, and Vafhudur (also poem! It's cool did you write that?) thank you so much ^_^ I'm also loving reading up on all the folklore and stories behind your designs as well so please keep it coming.

I'll definitely contribute my own 'sona sometime this month once I decide what to do, and I think I may also do a *thing* involving everyone all spookied up for Halloween itself if I can  although it will probably only involve the 'sonas posted up to a day or two before because time and other such bothersome stuff

If anyone would like me to draw their 'sona all spooky just let me know what you want and chances are I will (although probably without my usual backgrounds). Halloween only comes once a year after all, and seeing and drawing this kind of stuff makes me really happy. So yeah, pm or reply 

Oh and Daisieerose, don't worry I haven't forgotten about your art trade, it will pop up eventually I swear
