Okay, so here a few songs from musicals/ musical films that I like:

Dream a Little Harder from the Starkid musical Twisted. It has a lot of swearing, so I'm putting it under a spoiler

Spoiler: it also has a lot of Disney references, but especially from beauty and the beast, even though its based on Aladdin • show

The Plagues from the Prince of Egypt:

Who I'd Be from Shrek the Musical (yes it's a musical):

Man Up from the Book of Mormon:
A life without death is a life not worth living.

Survived: :artd::book1+::chap6::chap7::chap8::chap9::chap10::chap11:

Speaks+reads: :newzealand:
Speaks: :philippines:
Barely reads: :france:
Can read a few sentences: :china:
Want to learn: twelve other languages, *sigh*

Teräsbetoni - Missä miehet ratsastaa (Finland's 2008 Eurovision entry)

I keep listening to this over and over and over, it's so good ahhhh - It reminds me a lot of another metal band though. Problem is, I can't figure out which one. I've read that they're influenced by Manowar, but that's not the one I'm thinking of. This'll drive me nuts for ages.

Iron Maiden perhaps? Teräsbetoni lyrics are pretty special though... "Where men ride there sheep cannot graze, where men ride there you hear the wolves howl" (ok, all things considered they're pretty similar to Iron Maiden in this regard too). ;D

I thiiiink I might have been thinking of Edguy, but Iron Maiden is a pretty close match too. Pfft, those lyrics, SO CHEESY. I love it. : D

Luca Turilli - Black Dragon

Something loud and awesome (because I need the wake-up, ugh). I love everything on the King of the Nordic Twilight album, but this is the favourite. Cheesy metal goodness!

I discovered this song one day when we had a lot of hours on the road, this summer, and I can't say why but I like it :)

Never thought I'd like a Disturbed song so much.  I also never thought they'd cover a Simon & Garfunkel song, but I can't get rid of the goose bumps. o____o

Wow, that's terrific!  Not like the version I know, but it fits somehow.  Goosebumps, definitely.

I'm not familiar with the oeuvre of Disturbed.  Do they play -- to use the technical term -- "scary music"?  (Like all the metal "folk songs" Fenris, Kjeks, and FinnishViking have shared with me...  ;) )
"The music of what happens," said great Fionn, "that is the finest music in the world."

Actually you can dance/find "patterns" of dance on some folk metal songs, but I'm out of topic.

I think it was Fenris who literally posted for my viewing "Here's a nice soothing folk song," and the link was to something so horrifyingly, blast-fired metal that it made my ears bleed.  He chuckled at my squawks of dismay.  (I know it was all in good fun.  :) )  Though it could have been FinnishViking with a Korpiklaani number.  One of those terrifying Scandinavian guys, anyway.
