I don't listen to much rap either, except Gorillaz.  They make it good.  They have a lot of rap and techno elements, and a really unique style.  Very creative band.  Also, the members of the band are... animated?  They don't even represent actual people, they're just characters.

Edit:  I think the art style is worth mentioning as well.  The animation is really nice to watch, and done by the artist who made "Tank Girl."  Really creepy, cool stuff.

Yes to all of this! And the fact that they're a fictional band just makes it all the more interesting, in my opinion. They even have this long, weird, complicated story about how the band got together And the art style. Where do I even begin? It's just absolutely awesome. Jamie Hewlett has this weird talent for drawing things in a very "ugly" way (in the sense that he never draws anyone looking stereotypically pretty), and like Eich said, it just looks really creepy and also incredibly cool

Oh my gosh! Solovei! It makes me so happy when people from outside the Twin Cities have heard of Doomtree! If you can, you should try to come to one of their annual blowout shows they have every December! It's seriously so good!

hehe, I didn't know what part of Canada you were in. There are parts of Canada that are very close to Minnesota.
