For once the song stuck in my head is actually a song I like! Maybe it will help me channel my inner Sigrun wait no that's a terrible idea I work in customer service.
Katzenjammer - A Bar in Amsterdam

Yay!  Another Katzenjammer fan!

So much lovely music, and I have to barge in and ruin it all with Mr Floppy...

Wuthering Heights

That's...special.

And because of the date, it's Liz Phair time.

Keep an eye on me. I shimmer on horizons.

I can't remember if I ever remembered to recommend David Wirsig's Sunken City EP, some rather cozy post-apocalyptic indie folk because apparently that's my aesthetic

so should we doubt the sun's existence
when it's tucked away at night?
making fable of all fact
that isn't right before our eyes

in the morning when we wake up
will we fear the sun's first light?
saying "how could we have known
without some kind of warning sign?"
you'll know where to find me.

Since it's that time of year again, here's the winning entry from the 1984 Eurovision Song Contest - Sweden's Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley...

well there goes my music budget for this month ;)

Its funny, just last week I was in my favorite consignment shop and picked up some used CDs. One of them was Keith Jarret’s Klon Concert. If you’re not familiar with Keith Jarret, back in the 80’s he was a jazz pianist of some significance and a very serious improvisationist much like Nils Frahm and The Klon Concert was one of his major recordings. I’ve been listening to it over the last few days and it reminded me how much I like this kind of music. I’ll have to see how much of the Nils Farahm can be extracted from the net. Particularly the acoustic improvisation sessions which aren’t available as CDs. Even if the downloading is blocked I’ve been known to take the line audio out and record it that way.
