I went and listened Low Roar - woah I love their music! Thanks for the unintentional recommendation :D

Answering to your question: I don't know exactly something like Low Roar but 'Black Hill & Silent Island' has music that has the same kind of atmosphere. Their music doesn't have singing but the instrumentals remind me of Low Roar's 'Patience'. I myself like this album from them.

Grimes' latest is really speaking to me. No idea what it's saying mind you...

It is that time of year when I try to cling to my increasingly distant youth by voting in the Triple J Hottest 100 and then come here to subject everyone to my execrable musical taste by posting the songs I voted for  ;). So without further ado and in no particular order here are my favourite ten (plus one) songs of the year...

Alex Lahey - Don't Be So Hard On Yourself
/>
Tones And I - Johnny Run Away
/>
Cry Club - DFTM
/>
Billie Eilish - bad guy (I am such a cliche!)
/>
Grimes — So Heavy I Fell Through The Earth (yes, I already posted this...)
/>
Lana Del Rey — The Greatest (reminiscent of/highly derivative of the Beatles)
/>
Of Monsters and Men - Alligator (Iceland represent!)
/>
SOAK — Deja Vu
/>
Vampire Weekend — Harmony Hall (my second favourite of the entire year)
/>
Peking Duk — Ur Eyez {Ft. Al Wright} (my absolute fave!)
/>
The Naked and Famous - Sunseeker (would have been my number 11 if they let us have 11)
/>
Right, I'll shut up now :D

Even though I love Jean Michel Jarre, I haven't went through his Rendez-Vous album from 1986. Until now, that is.
Why haven't I done it sooner? It's absolutely magnificent.

This was released 10 years ago, but I only just stumbled over it, at which point my jaw dropped to the floor.

Back at it with the a capella because one of my old friends' a capella groups just released an album, and I'm consistently amazed by what they can do with just their voices. (And I promise these are all different songs.)

No new music, just this one again, because it's beautiful and I remembered it existed again today. It's been soothing to listen to again right now.

Based on a discussion in the Chapter Break Filler thread, here's some songs that make me want to go camping!
For the sake of some semblance of cohesion, I stuck just to lyrical stuff, no instrumentals.

Click the image to go to the spotify version of the playlist! Be aware it's a link!

I'll list the songs below a spoiler, too, for those disinclined towards spotify.

I'd love to hear other songs that remind people of the outdoors! Being on lockdown makes me miss the mountains so much.

Have I been using your camping playlist as my new study music? Yes. I have. It's a lovely playlist!

The only song I know on there is Keane's 'Somewhere only we know', which is the song that makes me miss my old town (or more specifically, the bush that was in close proximity to the town). I'm glad I left that place for a number of reasons, but I miss the land and the trees and all the little orchids and the rain and going for walks by the river and... well, the lyrics of 'Somewhere only we know' hit hard.
I write poetry sometimes.

oo, steadfast, I agree with KeepLooking, that's a very good playlist to do schoolwork/study to.

As for me, I wanted to share my playlist of Celtic music! I don't know the words to most of them, but I think I've listened to it often enough for all the melodies to become ingrained in my head  ;D

Damh the Bard has been entertaining people during lockdown by putting up what he calls ‘house concerts’ on youtube. He was meant to be travelling for concerts, and obviously can’t do that in present circumstances, so is basically doing a casual music session from his home studio. You might enjoy them.
I can’t make links, but you should find them by looking up ‘Damh the Bard’ and ‘house concert’. Fun if you like Pagan folk and a general tone of casual singalong.

So, I'd long given up being able to listen to Joe Hisaishi's Studio Ghibli's soundtracks legally without somehow getting hold of the CDs. They weren't ever on Spotify, everything that wasn't a cover on YouTube was taken down, CDs were hard to get and expensive for someone who lived on an island with almost no disposable income.

Today I decided to check Spotify on a whim.

All of Joe Hisaishi's albums are on it.

So for everyone who just like me gave up, go listen.

If I listed all of the songs that I listen to when I'm writing my Dragonhost Saga, or just for inspiration, it would be a very long list indeed; so I'll just name the artists for now - Soundmopi, Really Slow Motion, Two Steps From Hell, Johannes Bornloff, Thomas Bergerson, Marcus Warner and Phil Lober.

Marcus Warner is the most recent addition to the roster, and I've posted a link to one particular piece in the Scriptorium with my Song of Dawn and Dusk. But just today I found another of his that caught my attention.

I give you Marcus Warner's Carried Home.

Yastreb, that is indeed beautiful!

And Lenny, I just discovered that Apple Music has those albums. Yay!
