Basse, this is real interesting for a couple of reasons. One it shows that western style rock-n-roll culture has penetrated almost every where. That in itself is a little scary and sad. The local indigenous culture may not survive. The other is there was a group of Mongol Thuvian (spell?) Throat Singers who came to my work for a performance. Needless to say they were pretty amazing. So in listening to this I had that in my memory, also on a CD at home. Take away the metal trappings and the underlying vocal sound is the same. The first piece sounds like they were going for a "rap" style vocal. The second piece though, less the metal, could have come right off the CD I have. In fact for about 3 seconds at 1:37 to 1:40 where they do drop the rock accompaniment briefly it is exactly like the performance I heard. I'll have to see any of that CD is up on You Tube, probably is, and post it here for comparison.
Ya know, I'm not really into metal but with all the stuff that gets posted here it's starting to grow on me. I just need to remember my ear plugs ;D

I'm too old - it's too loud ;)

Since I started posting Michael Jackson stuff and nobody is making any attempt to stop me, let's continue the saga.

So today I decided to start listening to all the stuff by the Jackson 5 in chronological order. So I listen to their first album, and it's good. But then wikipedia tells me that there was an additional track recorded for this album, but eventually not put on it, only released 25 years later on a compilation. So of course I want to listen to that to.

So the song starts, and at first I'm like "this is a nice song, they should have put it on the album".

But then it reaches the chorus, and then I realise this is a different version OF A SONG HAVE BEEN REMEMBERING FROM MY CHILDHOOD, what I thought was an 80s song of which I only remembered the chorus' melody, and like, this song has been an earworm in my head for *over two decades*, almost every month I would think about it and wonder just what the heck it was.

And now I found not only the 80s version I knew was actually a cover from a Motown hit song from 1966, but also there's a lesser known Jackson 5 version??? Is this the best day of 2016 or what?

Oh and so, from this, I was actually able to find the 80s version from my childhood: it was a cover by Michael Bolton.

So here we go, original version by The Four Tops:
