Since I started posting Michael Jackson stuff and nobody is making any attempt to stop me, let's continue the saga.
So today I decided to start listening to all the stuff by the Jackson 5 in chronological order. So I listen to their first album, and it's good. But then wikipedia tells me that there was an additional track recorded for this album, but eventually not put on it, only released 25 years later on a compilation. So of course I want to listen to that to.
So the song starts, and at first I'm like "this is a nice song, they should have put it on the album".
But then it reaches the chorus, and then I realise this is a different version OF A SONG HAVE BEEN REMEMBERING FROM MY CHILDHOOD, what I thought was an 80s song of which I only remembered the chorus' melody, and like, this song has been an earworm in my head for *over two decades*, almost every month I would think about it and wonder just what the heck it was.
And now I found not only the 80s version I knew was actually a cover from a Motown hit song from 1966, but also there's a lesser known Jackson 5 version??? Is this the best day of 2016 or what?
Oh and so, from this, I was actually able to find the 80s version from my childhood: it was a cover by Michael Bolton.
So here we go, original version by The Four Tops:
