Nooooo! I've been to a Star Trek con and a Tolkien con and they were a lot worse than the standard generalised SF&F cons or filk cons. The single theme cons can be pretty wearing to everyone except obsessed fans of that one particular subject. At least Tolkien-themed cons cover a broad area and generally have superb filk!

But a few months ago when someone in the forum mentioned Homestuck I looked it up, and can't even imagine basing a con around it. Doing that to SSSS - no. Just no.

The troll species in homestuck have more complicated romance systems than humans, they're called quadrants and symbolized with card symbols (heart, clubs, I dont remember what the other two are called), which makes for more varied and weird shipping haha

This reminds me of a discussion on the chat about that the updatechecker (why, yes of course we have an auto F5-er) checks for a new page too slowly, apparently an other one that has been made for this "Homestuck" checked every 0.5 secs...

I have a solid state drive in my laptop and it works really well...

I have a 250 GB SSD and 4 TB HDD on my desktop...

Thank's much you two!  Feartheviolas, the article was very informative, and both your experience and Nietos' seem to confirm what I've been reading.  Will probably buy a new hard drive today, especially an SSD if possible.
