It's vengeance for the sack of Iona, Fimby. ;)

Also, a 20-day-lead is nothing!  "Pumpkin spice" coffee creamer showed up before 15 September. ::) Today we saw a sign in a Mexican restaurant: PUMPKIN SPICE TACOS ARE HERE!! (JK)

;D We thought that was our kind of humor, and enjoyed a nice lunch there. ^-^

my phone camera wasn't good enough to take pics of it, but there was an honest-to-gods US flag in the middle window there, crossed with a norwegian one. WHOKNOWS.jpg

I meant to do productive things when I got home but my brother had just put in the first Back to the Future movie, and then the whole family ended up marathoning all three. welp

*grumbles* We ought to sack them* again and more if that's their idea of retribution.

*has no idea who 'them' is in this case

I went to IKEA yesterday (worst idea I've had thus far this year) and they're already sneaking in the Christmas stuff. Decorations, gingerbread, that kind of stuff.

Yes, what's UP with that? Icelandic Ikea was also full of Christmas things and I'm fairly certain no one starts quite yet with any of that... I mean people haven't even put the window lights up and that tends to happen as soon as the days turn noticeably dark.

I can say for my Ikea trip though that the chocolate mousse was really nom (although my friend made silly puns about chocolate mooses and later on I realized they were serving the mousse from candle holders).

There's a house near my school that already has Christmas lights up.
They always cover the house in decorations, it looks like a landing zone.
Last year they kept them up 'till March.

Around here there's been christmas stuff in stores for weeks. It really kills my excitement for christmas decorations when they're in stores so early. I mean really, it's still hot.

It's so stu- hang on ... Iceland has an IKEA but no H&M? There's like a 100 HMs in Norway but only 4 or 5 IKEAs. Strange country.

That's actually kind of suspicious. They may be aiding and abetting aliens.

Hot can mean anything y'know. But I wish they wouldn't make Christmas all about shopping. Even Black Friday is starting to become a thing here and we do. not. need. that.

Some folks actually enjoy starting early.  My friend Victor starts counting down from 25 June.  ::)  He also synchronizes his lights to blink to Christmas carols.

Oh well, it's a hobby. :)

It's happening over here too... I really wish they wouldn't, we already have a day for that kind of nonsense, this just makes it worse. :/

We also have a Dunkin' Donuts shop and there's plans of opening at least 15 of them, most of them probably in the capital city area. Strange country indeed.

(Btw according to my friends Iceland used to have a H&M but it ran away.)

Sadly yes, which also means some poor employees have to work over Thanksgiving.

That's the part I really dislike. I really try hard to not go to any store on Thanksgiving because I don't want to contribute to this terrible trend.
