Going in for ear surgery tomorrow! A little nervous because of the recovery time and restrictions (I'm not allowed to blow my nose for a couple of weeks! O_O) but it'll be good to get everything finally done and fixed up.

... they forbid blowing your nose but have nothing to say about trying to avoid sneezing? Or do they have a way to temporarily plug your tube so that short bursts of pressure are kept out of the middle ear?

No getting onto any flights during that period, either, I presume ... ?

Thanks for the good wishes everyone!

Everything has gone to plan and I'm now back at home with all kinds of interesting dressings stuffed into my ear canal.

In regards to nasal matters they've blocked my eustachian tube with a dissolving plug so it's OK if I blow my nose *gently* and just try not to sneeze too much. Thankfully hayfever is one of the conditions I am not afflicted with. And you're right JoB, no flying or diving until it's all healed up!

Think I'll head off to bed now and try to sleep off the lingering effects of the anesthesia...

Bidding is open for the Fandom For Australia charity auction now. It'll close on Saturday 29th February, 23:59:59 GMT.

Jiiri (Jitter) - offering SSSS for 2 fanfiction slots.
Kiraly - offering SSSS, aRTD, and CoH for 1 fanart slot.
vaityadil (Noodles) - offering SSSS for 1 fanart slot, 1 beta reading slot, and 1 icon fanart slot.
yuuago - offering both SSSS and aRTD for 1 fanfic slot, 1 beta reading slot, and 1 poetry slot.

See each person's page for the specific details about what they're offering.

Quick rundown of how auctions like this work:

- Every slot that a creator is offering will have a link to a bidding form and a spreadsheet to check the current high bids, like a silent auction.
- The person with the highest bid on each slot will be contacted through email by the Fandom For Australia mods when the auction is over.
- Winners then make a direct donation to one of the charities Fandom For Australia is supporting, for their pledged winning amount or higher.
- Winner emails the mods proof of donation. This is usually a screencap of the receipt with real name etc blacked out in Paint.
- The mods send an email to the creator with the winner's email address, so they can get in contact and discuss the fanwork they'll make for them as thanks for donating.
