Last night, someone's microwave in our dorm building exploded, so we got woken up at 2:30 in the morning to run outside into freezing temps. Nothing got burnt (beyond the microwave) but it was annoying as all hell...

I've had something quite similar happen to me in the middle of winter, only I was in the shower at the time and had to run outside in nothing but a towel. The only reason the person to set off that smoke alarm is still alive is that I never found out who did it.

Eek, that's not fun. :-/ I hope it wasn't too cold... The closest I've ever gotten was late spring and I'd been playing on my DS. So like not close to that at all.

We got snow (FINALLY, whoever thinks climate change is a myth need only look at my hometown in the past five years. Like seriously, WHY IS THE SNOW THIS LATE) but it basically all melted already and I think it's supposed to heat up again later in the week. :-/

Yep, we also got a few flurries here in eastern Mass. No accumulation but it was nice to see it. If this represents a trend I think I'll be very glad my latest car has a 4 wheel drive traction control system.

After I signed up for the advent calendar and the secret santa, BAM I was struck with immediate art block. I can barely even conceptualize anything to draw for the advent calendar. Art block, please go away.

It would indeed! Our weirdweather has decided to go from cold enough to need the woodstove and have plants nipped by frost to mid thirties C in under a week. And Sunday we had another lengthy power outage. Mrrrrr.....

:O that is incredible. Our weather has been oscillating between extremes too, but not THAT extreme. That's like switching from winter to summer in a couple of days. *very worried for the environment*
