Houses Fire-Hit, Just Ignore It...

Emil knows not what to do,
When he wakes from reverie.
Lalli sees a bright orange hue,
As he eats his confectionery.

There, buildings ablaze,
In the distance outside.
Directing his keen gaze,
The mage eagle-eyed.

'Oh, right', as if in a daze,
Saying the Swede detached.
No attention he pays,
To the burning land patch.

To the troubling trappings,
He says an apathetic line.
It's a thing that happens.
Just ignore it, it's fine.
A man left his Icelandic home
Escaped to Denmark to freely roam
With hair braided red
He got hit on the head
With a crate lid slammed onto his dome

As The Cat Lies, Light In Swede's Eyes

Lalli can catch some zeds,
If that's what he desires.
Long before the fire spreads,
The dream always expires.

The Swedish man eats,
Letting the sleeping cat lie.
His dreaming on repeat,
A tortured soul fire-fly.

And so the scout naps,
Dream within dream, recline.
In the hearth, ember scraps,
When the morning beams shine.

A man left his Icelandic home
Escaped to Denmark to freely roam
With hair braided red
He got hit on the head
With a crate lid slammed onto his dome

No Cat Astir, Thoughts Transfer

Now out Emil crawls,
From their sofa-fort.
Lalli's rousing stalled,
He's still on life-support.

"Don't do this please!
You were supposed to wake!"
Thoughts filled with unease,
Don't know what action to take.

Then "Just start walking."
"Stupid!" a voice in head says.
Who is this thought talking,
Stowaway soul other than his...?

-------------------------------

I'm Just Talking (based on I'll Get Even by Megadeth)

I'm lonely and abandoned
Washed up, left for dead
I'm lost inside the distance
Of the travel up ahead

Like a doused candle
Or a dampened fuse
I'm thinking about the time
We haven't got to lose

In your coma stranded
Caught up in your spell
In my dream you came
I hear a little voice yell

Ah-ah-ah, I can't even with you
I can't even with you, even with you

I'm jaded and extinguised
You haven't woke today
I'm lonely and I'm hungry
I don't even know the way

I'm like a bomb defusing
I got voices in my head
"Stupid, just keep walking!"
That's what the noises said

I'll get you back somehow
That's what I'm gonna do
I'll get you back somehow
Your voice is coming through

Ah-ah-ah, I'm just talking to you
Ah-ah-ah, you stupid buffoon
Gonna keep talking to you

You better hear inside you
'Cause there I'm gonna be
I'll be shouting from the shadows
You stupid messy Swede

Me, in ye, and me in thee decree,
That you need to walk, okay?
It's only me, Lalli

Ah-ah-ah, just keep walking, you fool
Gonna keep talking to you
Ah-ah-ah, that's what I'm gonna do
I'm gonna do
Ah-ah-ah, just keep walking, you fool

Gone Insane? Composure Regained

Did he just hear that?
The voice just heard.
Was it the fallen cat?
No, that would be absurd.

That's it, he's gone insane.
Insane from the fret.
The voice inside his brain,
A contrarian outlet.

"If that's what you want
To tell yourself", says they.
But correct is the confidant,
To get moving is the only way.

So tying some sheets and straps,
In forming a fabric sledge.
To carry out the man who naps,
With his legs behind outstretched...

Sarcastic Chitter, Drag Make-shift Litter

How can I do this?
"By not being pathetic."
The internal voice hissed,
Scathing and acerbic.

"Good advice, thanks."
Is Emil's sardonic reply.
Dragging the cat man of lank,
The now dual-personality guy.

Be careful with his body parts,
He doesn't want a concussion.
Don't take it to heart,
This infernal, internal discussion.

Separately Going, Fore Shadowing

A group of three in a bind,
Shoulders, heads sagging.
Swedish man of two minds,
So doggedly dragging.

One cat pulled behind,
One pushed in front.
Invaders of weakened minds,
Shadowing on the hunt.

Their numbers divided, will
They be conquered like this?
Separate groups misguided,
Ad finem itineris?

Separation Anxiety, Regroup Difficulty

A lonely night misspent,
Now backtracking is she.
Unexpected incident,
For the two absentees.

Of missing friends,
Not hide nor hair does she see.
If they don't re-attend,
Would be a catastrophe.

Through streets she wends,
But how can this be?
Reaching a dead end,
All lost out at sea?

Have they been sent,
An end most watery?
Nonetheless, in any event,
Down to just three...

Slept With The Fish? Cry In Anguish

The end of the path,
A deep drop is all.
The group now hath
A great disaster befall.

Her both hands clutched
In widening despair.
It's all just too much,
Came true her nightmare.

Anguished retrace,
Now a wordless cry.
The lines on her face,
Increase and multiply.

Reynir's had his share.
On adventure overdosed.
Kitty doesn't care,
Medical scratching post.

Escaped to Denmark to freely roam

They Were Caught, To Go They Ought

Leader has returned,
With no companions in tow.
Her suggestions they spurned,
Now alone the three must go.

Seeing her expression,
Reynir can only exclaim "No."
With her grief suppression,
Completing her mission so.

"Nothing to do about it."
"Time to move" Sigrun spurs.
Losing cleaner and scout, it
Behooves them, they must go onward.

Disaster Of A Mission, No Time For Contrition

The books to the site,
Their duty to deliver.
The cat and fire-lighter
Sold up the river.

The mission a disaster,
But the least they can do
Is make sure they last there
And not lose Reynir too.

So the three remaining
Set off once again.
With map, uncomplaining,
Ground Emil tries to regain.

Map, Signed Directions, Distant Course Correction

A man with a chart
Staring at signs.
The cat tied up smart,
A ribboned bow entwined.

"We've got to be
Somewhere around here."
Map reading on his knees,
His goal nowhere near.

"We've drifted so far."
Emil contemplates.
Far removed the two are,
Circumstances dictate.

They'll Be Late, Will Not Wait

By tomorrow maybe,
At the meeting location.
If they set out promptly
And move the whole duration.

Would they wait until then?
No, certainly not.
They'll think they're dead men.
Such is Lalli's inner thought.

Only stupid people would wait,
For someone thought of as dead.
The cat mage tells it straight,
Unequivocally embedded.

Not Finished With The Map, The Impatient Voice Snaps

Half the battle is knowing,
For the cleanser in squat.
It's best directly going
To their pickup spot.

If they hurry in this case,
They'd not get left behind.
Hopefully at that place,
The others they'll find.

So the Swede puts away
The map, it's decided.
The inner voice loudly says,
It wasn't well enough read!

The voice takes issue, he
Wasn't done looking at that.
Emil opens it up to the
Closed eyes of the cat.

"Not that way, idiot!"
Can't you see his closed eyes?
How inconsiderate,
Insultingly criticised.

Route Decided, Forward Motion Provided

Emil closely peers
In the map at his nose.
The eyes coming clear,
But which eyes are those?

Lalli memorises,
Sight within sight.
The route he advises,
You can start walking, alright?

------------------------------

Have Fool, Will Travel
(based on Have Cool, Will Travel by Megadeth)

Emil pack your brushes, we have had our fun
For our navigator man, there can be only one
Hard to cross the silent world, when I'm looking through your eyes
Now you can begin your walking, don't ask the reason why

Hey, hey, hey!

Walk in the light, a race against the sun
'Til it's all but over, and rejoin everyone
I'm stuck inside you man, thoughts are amplified
I can help you to see, nothing to do but try

Hey, hey, hey!

Fool, that's the wrong way, looking with my magic eyes
Think for just a moment, it's you that I'm inside

Have fool, will travel

Fool, that's the wrong way, looking with my magic eyes
Think for just a moment, it's you that I'm inside

Look inside, know it's true, inside you is me
Locked in and talking, it's embarrassing, I'm stuck inside the Swede

I have fool, will travel
Have fool, will travel
Have fool, will travel

Focus On Your Soles, That's The Scout's Role

Emil needn't be on lookout
For troll nests on the way.
Since that's job of the scout,
Just keep your feet moving. "Okay?"

Leave Lalli to focus
On the scouting duties.
Speed is the onus,
So brains before beauty?

Now he starts the slog,
The mission to rendezvous.
Like a sledging dog,
Race to rejoin the crew.
