Helloooo all! After Keeper drew some fashions of various 'sonas, I decided that I wanted to do that too, but alas, the only fashion book I had was period fashion, so I made do and drew some select looks from 1547 on :O
Under spoilers so the MASSIVE amount of pictures doesn't kill all y'all's wifi (there are 31 drawings total)
The book I used for reference for all of these is this lovely compendium by the Smithsonian museum. If anybody needs a fun book about historical fashion I highly recommend it :0
Alright, back to lurking and finishing up art trades, I hope you all don't mind that I used your OCs v_v
!!!! OMG, Curry, this is
amazing!!!! There aren't enough BBCode special effects to convey how much I, a fashion history geek, love this!
What an incredible compendium of beautiful fashions -- and what a heartfelt tribute to each of us, to spend so much time and energy picking out and illustrating a unique look for each of us. My SSSSona and I both thank you. (I'm not sure which one I like best! Haiz in the 17th-C. outfit looking very "
Orlando"... Karri's amazing hair in a Marie Antoinette updo... the boys in their plus-fours and lounge suits... Trinka's adorably sleek 1919 dress... I'm going to have to go back and look again!)
You wouldn't know it to look at me, but I do in fact own a corset -- not that I've been able to squeeze into it for several years -- and if I had the money and time, I would immediately commission a dressmaker to sew me an 1880s bustle gown. In fact, I chum around with vintage fashion and dance enthusiasts:
http://www.peersdance.org/events.html and
http://www.gbacg.org/ -- and if you ever visited the SF Bay Area you would be carried in triumph on their shoulders through the streets.
Thanks *very* much for sharing your incredible talents with us.
