Yes, it's some kind of aviamodel (because every smart guy who had proud of himself was dreamig to make his own aviamodel or airplane that would actually fly, but i'm not sure Emil could succed in this, but he tried!)
Also Reynir has lots of old newspaper for wastepaper project, that was also the important thing those times. (But it's seems funny to me, if to remember how much paper he used for useless runes in canon)
(And as Mad Robin said Lalli stole the cat from pets' corner xD)

All the talk of the guys in skirts gives me mad flashbacks to my school days when I had to wear summer dresses. Soo, I doodled Lalli & Reynir in summer dresses. Because that's an acceptable way to deal with my trauma.

Summer dresses'll wax ya good. Mine did anyway - always came home with significantly less hair on my arms than I left with...
I really really hated my summer dresses :V
