Thank you! They're the product of far too much work (obsessive? moi? ;D) in Inkscape, which is an open source vector drawing program. And a little bit of Photoshop to add in the stars.

The quick explanation is it's a star map of a tiny bit of the Warhammer 40,000 universe - Warhammer 40,000 being a grim, dark, gothic sci-fi setting.
