Thank you!  ^-^ I am getting really used to it, it's almost second nature to me because I use it every day. (It helps that I make my math notes with it, that gave me a lot of practice.)

I have another Hannu! ( ::) can you tell who my favourite character is yet?)
I did the lineart on the bus this morning and the colouring in math class. ( :P you know you're an addict when...) I coloured with a watercolour brush instead of the ink I usually use so it looks different.
Also, for the first time in forever, I tried to do a substantial amount of shading.

Triple post... sorry!  :-[

Here is you daily Hannu! I used the same colour palette as the last one, just with an ink brush instead of watercolour. The profile view was tricky, I'm used to drawing it head-on.

@Luth, no need to worry yourself about repeat posting! It's okay! ;p
Anyway! I like the colour palette you're using. The results sure look different in watercolour vs ink... Do you work from scanned lineart, or are you drawing directly on the screen? (Tablets are a mystery to me o3o )

Thank you! for the shading I used some tricks I picked up from callipygous's tutorial on shading. (change hue, not just darkness)
and yes, the ink is very different! I think I prefer ink at this point, partly because it's a square brush rather than a round one, so it's easier to colour in certain things.

Well, neither, sort of. I do the lineart digitally, but I can't draw directly on the screen. You can get tablets that work like that but mine does not have a screen in it so it works by mapping points on the tablet to points on the screen so you use the pen on the tablet while looking at the screen. It's hard to explain...

This is my first try at a full-body shot of Hannu (And Ville! I don't usually draw animals!) and I think it turned out well! I started the sketch on a stream I did a couple days ago.

I don't actually know where to post this, but I had an assignment to counterfeit a comic page I'd picked out beforehand, and mine was a page from aRTD. It's a direct copy so it's nothing new, but I wanted to share it with people who know what it is ::)

(the original was from the back of the aRTD print book; I copied it using a grid and a photocopy of the page)

That looks very good!
I did a similar project in an art class I did a while ago, with the gridding. We put a grid on a black & white photo to do a value study. :)

Nice work, very convincing! Copying existing work is surprisingly difficult and a lot of work, especially with such a detail-rich style as Minna's. It looks really good!
