Oh wow, I totally didn't see this thread o.0 Uhhhh here we go

:china: 在中文。。。

:france: En français... Bonjour!

:usa: In English (finally! God my brain hurts...): Hello! My "name" is Misea as some (a lot? idk I don't post a tooooon) may know. I'm a Chinese American born in the States, currently a college student. Both of my parents came from China. I speak English, Mandarin, and French; Mandarin is my first language, but I only have native fluency in English (it's really hard to maintain heritage languages in the Chinese American community, since we're so freaking small (in the northern Bay Area) and all the kids culturally identify somewhere between Chinese and American). My French is better than my Mandarin, hahaha. I can speak Mandarin fine, except when conversations get technical or idioms get thrown in without much context, and I can read and type a little. Writing is pretty much out of the questions--I can write maybe ten to fifteen characters off of the top of my head, and not very well. Uhhh I'm learning Spanish, Italian, Swedish, and Norwegian on Duolingo and reviewing my French on there as well, but I can really only say anything with conversational meaning in French whoops. And I'm totally mixing up Norwegian and Swedish. That's what I get for taking on too many languages at once on top of art and things that I actually need to do, like prepping for next semester's classes  ("7_7)

:spain: Hola! Yo hablo un poco de español. :usa: No I don't. Well, I mean, I can, but it's nothing really that I can hold a conversation with.

:sweden: Hallå, jag talar inte svenska.

:norway: Hei. Jeg snakker ikke norsk.

I can actually say words and stuff in the last three languages but yeah I think you catch my drift, I don't really know anything aside from a little (I mean really little ) bit of kinda random stuff.

:uk: Hey there! I'm Russet, I'm from Malaysia and I speak English, Chinese and Malay. Chinese is my native language but I'm probably more fluent in English because I've had a lot of English influences in my life due to books, movies, etc. (p.s. Hi Misea remember me from the Chinese forum? haha)

(there's no malaysian flag. sigh.) Helo, apa khabar? (p.s. in english: my malay sucks. i'm sorry. it's compulsory because i live in malaysia but half the time i feel like an awkward foreigner)

:uk: Hi everyone, I’m videovance! I’m Chinese, American and Australian. I’ve basically been learning Chinese since birth but I am certainly not fluent in it (I'm really bad, actually, but gradually getting better at it). I have never learnt another language apart from Chinese, but if I did, I’d love to try learning Swedish or Spanish!

She popped out of nowhere yesterday a little after noon o.o I have no idea where she hides anymore. She seems fine, which is good. c: Still weaning her off of that rich stuff we've been feeding her for the past couple of weeks though

Tere! No problems with the Finnish, just drop the -ko ending because it turns verbs into questions: olen virolainen = I'm Estonian, olenko virolainen = am I Estonian?

Plus there's one good false friend here, ehk. It sounds a lot like the Finnish ehkä which means maybe, so on a quick read it's like... "maybe I study at Tartu Art College".  :))

it was funny try to read and understand, it is rare to see estonian!
all I got was that "good morning, my ame is Cliodna and I am 20 2 old" and I got a little how the number is written

Tere! No problems with the Finnish, just drop the -ko ending because it turns verbs into questions: olen virolainen = I'm Estonian, olenko virolainen = am I Estonian?

my first reaction to that was that maybe she got unsure about her nationality while writing in more languages xD
