Probably some kind of scribe, though "village nutjob" might be a more appropriate title depending on how much I can control my absolute fascination with the Rash, magic, and the forms trolls take. Even as a Swedish atheist, the sheer depth of unknown knowledge presented by the Rash's physical aspect would be enough to keep a person occupied for decades. Not to mention, of course, the possibilities brought about by deeper understanding.

Definately a Shaman that travels the corrupted world with others to purify the places where people died during the rash outbreak

That's not too far off parts of the world today. New Zealand's Maori culture, for instance, has protocols for lifting the tapu (taboo), including the singing of karakia, which I now think of as taking the part of the runo a Finnish mage would use.

Frankly... a biological scientist somewhere in Iceland, or agricultural specialist in Sweden. Hovewer, some experiments with beasts and trolls may be interesting, also...

Honestly, a field librarian to recover books and knowledge, and then restaure it. Fighting monsters for old books sounds like great. And also I was in a master specialized in "old books stuff" last year , so, I have the basics hehe.

Definitely a troll. Why fight the inevitable? Pick a location you wouldn't mind trolling around in and establish yourself early, I say.

Yeah, then you've got time to cozy up, make a nice nest. Being a troll may not be so bad - from a certain standpoint, they're just the natural next step in the evolution of humanity, so just go along with it.

honestly dead (not even from not being immune, just from regular disease)
but if, by chance, I did live for a bit I would like to think that I would be stuck in the same position as Reynir, my dad keeping me home so that I'm safe
Being a teacher wouldn't be so bad, but I think I would rather travel and explore, so perhaps documenting military results, if that even is a thing (I believe that is a more specialized Skald position?)

sorry to revive a somewhat dead thread   :'D

It's not dead yet!  (insert Monty Python references here)
I often doubt whether the Known World would totally be blown into the pre-industrial era, with all of those old diseases (measles, mumps, polio, TB, etc) making a comeback and GE drugs like insulin no longer available.  In fact, judging by the Dagrenning program tech, they may have made some significant advances in medicine - just not against the Rash. *insert sad face Siv here*
Welcome to you!  You may want to mosey along to the Introduction thread and tell us a bit about yourself.  Did you draw your avatar?  If so, we have an active community of artists (and writers) making fanworks - join the fun!

If I was immune, I would definitely be a scout--I'm autistic af (which seems to be practically a requirement, at least in Lalli's village) and do way better being alone and nocturnal. If I wasn't immune, I would probably be a Scald of some sort--not of the super-important cure-finding variety, but probably focused more on things I like (such as forgotten skills and tactics that would be useful if revived).

i'd like to be a skald, maybe a scout, but i'm gonna be honest i would jump from career to career like mad, i cannot retain a steady interest in something for a long time unless it is something Super interesting

pity that this thread is kind of dead its an interesting thing to think about

Probably a mage? Maybe skald? Artisan? I don't know. There are a lot of different choices I would have or could have made in different circumstances, let alone in a post-apocalyptic future with magic systems. And what system is another question, haha.

I also feel like I probably wouldn't be immune ;-; though maybe I would be and I'd just be regular sick sometimes. It's interesting to speculate.

Given what I want to be irl, I’d probably be a skald, although I’d definitely wish I could be a scout. No idea whether or not I’d be immune...how does one speculate on that?
