Alright, I've got it: the webcomic Breaking Cat News.

Lalli and/or Braidy are trying to tell the others about a prophetic/spirit dream they had and then one of the others (Emil maybe), completely missing the point, tells everybody they had a dream last night about cats who wore little suits and read off the news.

Girl Genius! They have to meet Krosp
Seconded, though more for the steampunk vibe and in hopes to see Tuuri go spark.

Alternatively, crossing over with something steampunk and Western-y ... ?

Hmm. Maybe...I'm not a big fan of Next Town Over, but it would definitely be an interesting crossover, to say the least!

They're both in the Minna-verse, so that doesn't count.

:C
But... but... but... it's unlikely they'll meet cause of the time difference! (also I think Minna said so...?) Though you're right, technically it won't be a "crossover"

The SSSS crew meeting the Monthy Python crew would be amusing. Ministry of Silly Walks, The Holy Grail, Meaning of Life. Just think of the possibilities!
(I'm sure I'm forgetting a few, but, whatever)
It's just a fruit salad, not the end of the world.

I was thinking random thoughts earlier, and came up with the idea of our cast putting on The Phantom of the Opera, billed as:

Emil as the Phantom
Tuuri as Christine
Braidy as Raoul
Sigrun as Carlotta
Mikkel as Piangi
Lalli as Meg Giry
Siv as Madame Giry
Trond and Torbjorn as André and Firmin

Tada.

I don't think that Emil would take kindly to you casting him as the Phantom. The entire play would be him stuck in the cave, hiding because his face is messed up. And that would be it. 2 hours of Emil applying sparkly makeup.

Hmm.  I think Emil would initially want to be the designated hero (Raoul).

But as soon as he realizes the Phantom gets a lot more songs and fandom, plus getting to order around all the other characters and cause destruction, he'd demand to play the masked monster genius.  Kind of like Bottom the Weaver in "A Midsummer Night's Dream," who wanted to play all the kewl parts in the Pyramus & Thisbe sketch.

P.S.  I'm loving the idea of Lalli as the ballet girl Meg.  All the fangirls would squee.  And Siv, the Voice of Doom, would make a perfect Mme. Giry.

The fangirls would sqee, the fanboys would shrug, and the Republicans would "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH"

I just slipped on a pair of pink-tinted fangirl goggles and--

There were a lot of paragraphs here that I cut because the power of the goggles got out of control! Also there are practically limitless combinations of casts depending on how you change the plot motives; there's literally a different story for every character cast as the phantom, and they would all reasonably work very well, especially if you're wanting a more fun than romantic adaption ;)
The only snippet to survive the cut was this:

Mikkel as Mme Giry who just wants these goshdarn kidnapping shenanigans to stop
And the whole quartet as the new managers
It's so tempting to cast Emil as Carlotta....so tempting....but Sigrun could work too, in an "I can play that part awesomely! How hard can it be?! PICK MEEEEEE!" Kinda way..... Hmmmmmmm

Because a Monsieur Madsen just seemed kinda funny....and there would be chaos with four managers...

Oh, gosh, Origami, wasn't there enough chaos with just two? Heheh, if Mikkel was the Phantom with that setup, he might just go off script and say "Nah, there's no way to keep my poor operahouse alive, farewell," and leave, kidnapping Christine on his way out.

*silently laugh/chokes in the library*
I think he'd just forget Christine and leave to find another opera to haunt XD
Who said anything about sticking to the script? ;3

It's sooooo tempting to plot out all the cast combos now.... But it would take so looooong!
Heh, I'll probably do it any way. Eventually.
