I know it's a bit late, but I did find something suitable for Occupations!

I can't take credit for it: Sol made it, on the Discord. (The underlying photo was mine though.)

Love it!! and a City of Hunger Onni too.

Great! The bus even has wings in the logo!  ;D

And they have professional drivers and mages for a safe journey!

You can travel by Onnibussi from Helsinki to Porvoo, and stay here: https://www.onniporvoo.fi/

I tried to look up how many companies are registered with the name Onni-something or Something-Onni, but the trade registry’s data service won’t list them when there are over 200 hits, so couldn’t.

Isn't Onni happiness or Luck?  If so that would be why it is popular for names.  Doing a search in the US brings up a lot also.

Grey, I love the Onni photoshop of the driver...

Yes, ”onni” means both happiness and luck, while ”tuuri” means just luck. I don’t know why “onni” is used for both, they are quite different things. But still somehow related so that I assume the word has the same root for both meanings. Unlike e.g. “kuusi” which means spruce and six (and “your moon” as well as “your month” but that is just a form of the word and not the base word).

In Polish, we have 'szczęście' which is the main word for both luck and happiness, but much less fun to pronounce than either Onni or Tuuri.

Incidentally, aren't their names sadly ironic? Neither could be called lucky; Onni has not had much happiness so far.

So... the Finnish language subscribes to the philosophical tenet that "everything is everything else..."
...so you might as well say it that way... /jk

Sorry I have been so low-effort the last two weeks! I was busy travelling and being ill.
Anyway, I guess it's time to pick new prompts, again. Any suggestions? I like the idea of lining up at least two or three for the next few weeks (with the option of introducing something into the list if everyone gets excited about something). Maybe Jitter or someone can collect whatever we say at the end of the weekend and make a list.

Personally, I would propose "train" as a prompt, since it somewhat covers two things we have been discussing for the reread, trains and trainings.

Train is a nice theme! And I can (also) repost my rash train! :D

BTW I'm still working on ancient rituals... it should be ready later today or tomorrow.

Tehta, I hope you are past the being ill part by now.

TRAIN
Nice work on the flexible prompt, to cover both hot topics!
Spoiler: non participation • show
(Yep, I am still poking an 18-month-old WIP and mulling over possible ideas from the last prompts.  At least something is percolating in the background again, perhaps the lull in creativity is coming to an end.)

Very far ahead, but hear me out - I'd like the week surrounding 1 September to have the prompt "We Survived", in honour of the Forum's 8th anniversary?

It's taking forever to finish that story! My fault, obviously! Always getting lost in the details, always being lured by the sirens' song about developing characters, thickening plots and so on.  >:(
I start with an idea for a short story and soon get myself wandering how good a novel about that would be...

I'll try to get my focus back tomorrow. Meanwhile here's a repost that may fit well the "train" prompt. It's not new, I know, therefore I'll put it under spoilers, but I kept it in the freezer and looks edible...
Perhaps some of our newer members weren't around when it came out for the first time (more or less when the gas tank troll was chasing the team in Finland)

Spoiler: show

Grey, that is great.  5 year-olds the world over will never view Thomas the Tank Engine the same

That is very fine! I don’t think I had seen it before, although I may just have missed it.

Grey, I am so glad I saw this in the morning and not at night, so I don't have to worry about nightmares. (Also, the drawing itself is SO well done.)
