It's drifting indeed. :) I can create a new topic and move those posts there, but how should it be called? "Plotholes" may be too strong, and IMHO would deserve a dedicated thread. "Canon-fix" also implies there's something, and error or fault, to be fixed. "Canon-complementary stories"?
And I think it would fit well in the "Writing Board".

Also I think "Tuuri does not die" is a fascinating starting point for a story, but in my mind that fits in the "Alternate universe" category.

And I may be naíve, but I didn't want to suggest anything that would create strong arguments between Forumites. Maybe I'm not expressing my idea well, or maybe it's just a bad idea. All I wanted was that those small pieces that come out on events (usually not in the scriptorium) and complement so well the canon were brought together on a single place :)

Writing board would be safer than SSSS board, as it clearly indicates it’s intended as a writers’ resource rather than Saying How It Is. Could the heading be ”How would you resolve… SSSS ’plotholes’ and common questions for writers”. No, that’s long and boring.

Grey, I like your idea and like I said I have no doubt us discussing right here would have no problem agreeing what to include in such a list. But example from other fandoms tells us that it’s nevertheless a bad idea. Maybe not right now, but over the years that we hope we will have.

Maybe the title could be something about gapfillers? That's not negative, to me. It's more about... missing scenes and clarified backgrounds?
I would include the Hotakainen reunion in that, as well as the discussion Lalli and Onni MUST have had after the gang found the latter, but also Emil's backstory (or an explanation for his suddenly near-fluent Finnish), a description of what Trond's blackmail material was, info on where Ukko-Pekka came from...

I like the gapfillers idea. I think it does belong under SSSS, though, as that's the specific work in which we'd be discussing filling the gaps.

And it should be easy enough to make it clear that multiple different ways for filling the same gaps are welcome.

What if you put it under SSSS board, and entitle it "How would you resolve ..."  That leaves it open-ended whether you are resolving plot holes or character backstories or inconsistencies or whatever.

Might it be possible that Ensi alternated between training her two grandsons? Also, it might be that with mages, making sure they get basic training early on is vital, to develop those strong mental defences Lalli described to Emil. So focusing on training child Lalli, and not the already-mostly-trained Onni, might make a lot of sense.
I don't remember offhand where exactly, but it was said that Ensi entirely stopped training Onni when she took on Lalli (who might be weaker than Onni magic-wise, but a much better fit to joining Ensi on her typical missions).

"The Canon(s) Tree", reminiscent of the famous Language Tree, with all sorts of interesting stuff branching out in every which direction?

I think part of the reason for Ensi later concentrating on training Lalli more than Onni might have been that Lalli was immune and could help with Ensi’s work while training? Onni would be safer at home, plus given a basic grounding there might be a lot of stuff like runos that he could then study by himself? And a non-immune mage might still be useful for things like defending the farm island.

I agree with these statements.  Onni is a powerful mage.  It seems to me, that the type of training Finnish mages go through is a form of apprenticeship.  I think Onni's magic was not the same as Ensi's and Lalli's was.  So once Onni got the pre-requisites, he had to discover/learn his own type of magic.  Whereas Lalli and Ensi seemed to be more alike.  Lalli could pick up from Grandma, and I am sure Grandma had to learn things from Lalli. (If only from a male-female perspective) A good teacher will always learn from their students.

Plus I think Onni was tasked with protecting his sister, and well as various things within the village and farm.  The shelter that they utilized when the breakout happened, looked like it was not a hastily built item.  They also were the only ones there, so I think it was a family "secret".

Through the comic, it looks like there are different types of magic (Especially For the Finns).  Reynir's magic is even different from how it was described for Icelandic mages.

So magic can be a very personal thing.

Hey, so is next week's prompt going to be related by the prologue we will be rereading? (Personally I would love something related to Iceland's refugees because of a WIP I plan to post, but that's some ways off, isn't it?)

I think a rather fun prompt might be something like perception vs reality, inspired by the two images we get of Aksel's grandma. That could work for fiction or art, couldn't it?

So a story about Aksel's grandma or about Grandma's?  Or year 0/1?  Or something in the schedule for reading pages 1-11

I really like the "perception vs reality" prompt! Here's my take. I hope you enjoy it!

Spoiler: show
Oh no! It's her! - Oh! Here he comes!

I'm sure she doesn't want to talk to me - I hope he talks to me.

I bet she hated that moment - It was such a lovely moment.

I'm probably the most awkward guy she ever met - I'm sure it could mean something... something more.

I guess I don't want to imagine what she thinks about me - Does he think about me the way I think about him?

Maybe I should pretend not seeing her... - It seems he didn't notice me. Of course, I'm here at this corner... better wave.

She's waving! So nice... And smiling! She's wonderful! - It worked! He saw me! And is coming! Here's my best smile, handsome!

I could never deserve someone so special.  - He's so cute!

Is she expecting me to sit at her table? - I'm lucky that the others already left, so there's space for him at the table.

I must look awful, ridiculous, or both! - He looks a bit embarrassed.

Surely I'll spoil everything if I go there now. - Maybe I'm making myself too obvious... what if he doesn't like me?

My boss! He's calling me to his table! The Universe must be telling me not to meet her now... - No! That guy is calling for him!

What should I do? - With our different shifts how much time will pass before we meet again?

I could go looking for her later... But she will probably find an excuse. - I could go looking for him later... But what if he says no?

Boss got a call! He's leaving! And she's looking at me! - The other guy got a call and is leaving!

I wonder what she's thinking... - He's looking at me... I wonder what he's thinking.

My phone! The Universe... No, just I reminder for this afternoon. - He stopped! Answering the phone... will he have to leave now?

Should I stay, or pretend the reminder was something important and leave? - Ah, I know! Let's put a glass of my tea for him, and smile!

She's putting tea for me! And smiling again! It would be rude to refuse. - Yes girl! You did it! He pocketed the phone and is coming!

I'm sure this will be a disaster! - Let's see how this turns out. I have a good feeling...

"Hi Lani!" - "Hi Rivi!"

Is she looking at my fat tail?! - Hummm... He definitively has a nice tail!

Grey, I enjoyed that! I am feeling quite invested in your Alien Science Romance. I hope you invite us to their wedding. I am sure they have some very quaint wedding customs.

Thanks dmeck and tehta! I wasn't expecting to come back to them after Goodbye, at least not anytime soon, but then this came to my mind, and with your support... who knows which places and moments we will visit? :)
