I think it is. Yastreb and I are both old fans of that story (from back in the day when Space Age Books in Melbourne sold the paper comic imported from America, and he and I both lived near that city). His avatar pic is Cutter from Elfquest. You like it too?

Roisin, I obviously recognized Cutter but the Winnowill reference was made by tehta, not you guys :)

Also I added spoilers to your message because it's not a part of the haiku chain

Yep, that was deliberate, of course. The haiku was going to be too-personal anyway, what with Yastreb's name, so i thought I would drag in a reference to the Cutter avatar, too.
I guess we all have more in common than just haiku-writing...

Just ask the rabbit.
He will know the exact time;
he carries a watch.

He carries a watch,
but as the Chinese suggest,
he won't carry two.

Spoiler: show

I.e., the purported (but AFAIK faux) Chinese saying that "a man with a watch always knows what time it is. A man with two watches will never be certain."

He won't carry two
Firing handguns akimbo
Is not accurate

Spoiler: show
WRT to the two watches; there's a tale told about a railway station employee who was asked why the two clocks at the station showed different times. He replied, "If they showed the same time, we wouldn't need both of them."
