Robin

"Nooo, don't plug the hole yet!" Robin leaps to the ground, feet making a tiny muffled sound, and opens her arms to block Jay. She holds one closer to the hole and twists her body, watching the radiation meter closely. It remains unchanged.

"It kinda looks dug, doesn't it? I'd like to know where it leads."

Jay, already midway to getting the mattress thoroughly in there, stares at her. "I hate to be the one to say this, but you should really have more consideration for health and safety." He backs off and pulls the mattress out, annoyed at how fast it escalated. "Look away, I guess."

"I'm not going to touch it. That's what crowbars are for. Ten minutes ago you were discussing ways to bypass the generator room. Well..." She points at the hole with both arms like a clerk in a showroom. "Though I don't think this one leads to another room, even if we managed to enlarge it."

"No, I meant, uh, go ahead. Sorry." Jay gestures to the hole and spends some time loading ammo into his new gun, in case something nasty comes scuttling out.

"No, I meant, uh, go ahead. Sorry." Jay gestures to the hole and spends some time loading ammo into his new gun, in case something nasty comes scuttling out.

"Oh..." Robin blushes, feeling foolish. "Right."

She pushes the locker closer to the wall, grunting and skidding in place at times. "A little help?"

Once it's in position she climbs again, taking a good look through the gap. "We could plug it with tightly compact bed sheets, or filling from mattresses. Or, uhm, debris or bones? I don't think a mattress alone will hold what made this for more than a minute. But..." She cranes her neck and peeks from a different angle. "It looks like how the roaches got in after all.

"I guess they know how to open doors," she adds, glancing at Faust over her shoulder. Her mouth is serious, but there's a twinkle dancing in her eyes. It's the closest she got to a smile so far.

"...do you really think I would shoot you?" Faust asks. Kinda hurt. "Over asking a question?"

Arthur quips "Not much for her to be worried about, given your aim."

Nine

"What a mess!" Nine says as he enters the room. He notices with satisfaction that Faust stays by the door, covering their backs. Not stupid that guy, not at all. He feels that they may one day understand each other... If they live long enough.

He listens to Robin and Jay and points at the hole on the wall. "Yes, we better close that. Don't want a bunch of baby roaches on our backs. I'll help you." He moves toward Jay, but stops to look at his findings. "Fine, one more gun! And somebody added a few things to it. Give me a minute to take a look."
(PER) 1d10+6-5: 7

He observes the gun for a while and puts it back over the mattress when something else catches his attention. "Oh, this! I used to read this a few years... I mean, centuries, ago." He flips through the pages of the magazine and then back to the index. "Hum... Street Guns of Detroit... Sounds interesting." He spends a minute diagonally reading it, oblivious from the others movements.

"Those guys are... were nuts!" He shakes his head and looks at Jay. "Sorry, sorry, got distracted. I'll read it later. Let's deal with that hole! As for the gun, you found it, you carry it. Now it's just me and Charlie without a gun..." Nine looks at Charlie while he grabs a mattress. "Speaking of that, and hoping our friend Faust won't shoot me for asking, did you, miss, ever used a gun?" He than looks at Faust and raises an open hand. "Hold on. I'm not suggesting anything... yet. But you will surely agree that we should know."

Arthur picks the gun up from the matress and looks over it

(PER) 1d10+8: 14

Loud enough for the rest of the room to hear, he says "It's been converted to be fully automatic, rather than just semi-automatic. An idiotic idea, especially when they havent expanded the magazine."

Checking benaeath a bed, he finds a skeleton in the remains of a hazmat suit, little more than rags, but he takes the pip-boy from his wrist, muttering "It seems you encountered the greatest hazard of all, my friend, time."

He turns the pip-boy on without difficulty, so announces to the room "Found another of those pip-boys"

Nine

Nine looks at the hole while he helps holding Robin. He ponders for a minute. "Look, with the things we have here we won't be able to block whaterver capable to cut through concrete, roaches or not. I suggest we finish checking this room and go back to the hallway."

"Maybe we can throw that strange robot before us into the generator room. Then we can find if the metal in it attracts those discharges, and also if the sentry bot is active. We want to get out or to find another cockroach nest?"

Robin

"No, it's not thick concrete. I can see the dirt." She looks down at him. "We should be able to close it quickly, stuff something inside then move a locker in front of it. I'm not looking for trouble, I was looking for something of help. I don't want to risk getting ambushed by roaches crawling from a room we already cleared, do you?"

Robin nods. "Let's use the ones from the body bags. They're Vault-Tec assholes." She jumps down and looks around at the room. "We can stuff a compacted bed sheet first to make it harder for them to get the bones out of the way. Huhm." She scratches her cheek for a moment, thoughtful. "But let's save the cleaner sheets for bandages."

Nine

Nine nods at Robin's idea. "Ok, I don't think plugging the hole is that important, but if you want to do it..." He moves to mattress where Arthur found another body. "...but we really don't know who is who on this mess, so let's borrow this guy, that's already here. I'm sure we won't get any complains."

He takes a few rags and uses them to grab the corpse bones, carefully avoiding to touch them directly. The arm gives away easily, and soon Nine's holding a Humerus, an Ulna and a Radius. He looks at the Radius for a second, as something crosses his mind.

He walks back to Robin, passing next to Charlie. "Sorry miss. You did said that before, but we've been through a lot on these last hours. Anyway, if we find more guns and you wish I'll be here to teach you..." He cocks his head toward Faust. "...Or you can ask our friend there."

Approaching Robin and Jay, he offers them the bones, wrapped on the rags. "Here. Now let's do it and move, OK?" Nine points at the Pip-Boy. "BTW, does this thing come with a radio? Some models have it. And, by any chance, a calendar? I'm curious on which season we will find outside."

"Thanks!" Jay takes the bundle, trying not to look too closely at the bones. Eugh.

Jay looks over at Robin, checking to make sure she's okay with him going ahead, and then shoves the bones in the hole after the worst of the sheets, in with the rags. "All right. alarm set."

He makes sure to save the better sheets in case they want to make bandages with them.

Robin

Robin stares wordlessly at Nine as he pulls and dismantles the body she didn't realize was in the same room they were. It hadn't been lying around but tucked was under one of the beds, hiding. It was one of the people in hazmat suits, of ones who tried to rescue them. Was he afraid in the end? Did he outlive the others for a few minutes, only enough to understand no help was coming, that he was going to die here alone? And he still clung to life, crawled under that bed.  A desperate last act. These people had come for them when the rest of the world forsook them and got killed for it. And now Nine was taking one of them apart.

An unexpected feeling of warmth takes over her face, making her nose stuffy and her eyes sting. Robin looks away, eager to busy herself before it can overwhelm her. She grabs one of the clean sheets, kneels by a fallen locker and forces it against the metal corner, tearing small holes with a vengeance that she proceeds to use as help to rip the sheet in a few long stripes of fabric.

Nine

Approaching Robin and Jay, he offers them the bones, wrapped on the rags. "Here. Now let's do it and move, OK?" Nine points at the Pip-Boy. "BTW, does this thing come with a radio? Some models have it. And, by any chance, a calendar? I'm curious on which season we will find outside."

Her eyes dart at him as she nods. "Just a radio." She tears another would-be bandage then carefully folds and stuffs the pieces in the new backpack.

Jay looks over at Robin, checking to make sure she's okay with him going ahead, and then shoves the bones in the hole after the worst of the sheets, in with the rags. "All right. alarm set."

Robin gives a confirming nod to Jay. Not wanting to watch it she wanders over to the door, arms crossed as she waits them finish up the alarm.

"I wonder if we'll be able to hear that clatter with this stupid evacuation alarm blaring..." Faust says, once again mostly talking to himself. Using the bones of a dead guy. He isn't sure that is either good or bad, but he also wonders if the dead guy smell could actually attract stuff instead of keeping it away... Hmm...

"...you alright?" he asks Robin instead. He figures he'll operate on the assumption the army guys have better critter control knowledge than... a guy that literally had to deal with disgusting crawlies for the past few years.

They might be ducked.

"Wait, what if dead guy smell attracts roaches?" he asks.
