"Jack shit from this distance. Just a moment."
Marianne retrieves a set of binoculars from a hook near the helm and returns to the medic's side to peer through them.
"I still don't see anyth--wait. Yep. Something's moving. Has it left that spot?"
After finishing her coffee, Dísa starts strolling up and down the deck in search for something interesting to see. Sadly she remains unsuccessfull. But then she notices Leo looking at something in the distance. At this point Marianne too is looking there.
She steps to them. A bit more excited than she probably should be she blurts out: "
DidyouseeaSeabeast!?"
Since she doesn´t have binoculars, all she can do is squint her eyes.
"Hm. Looks more like seaweed..."
She sends out her mage-senses, but the thing is still just a bit out of reach.
"No. It's been matching our speed for fifteen minutes. Don't see any trailing strands from the boat so I don't think we're snagged on anything."
"Or not. Seaweed wouldn´t be following us."
Okay, enough with the childishness. This might mean trouble. But the runes should hold it off, if it is actually a beast.
"It´s still outside my radius, so I can´t tell if it´s dangerous. But it is worrying that it holds its position, even though we should technically be invisible for it."
She nervously looks at the big rune on the deck. No, she didn´t make a mistake there. And she double-checked every single rune she drew too. That can´t be it.
Well, a lot of these hiding-runes only work as long as what is approaching doesn´t know they´re there. That might explain it. A possible threat knowing that they´re here of course isn´t great, but there are still more lines of protection put into place. It´ll be fine.
Careful with what you wish for, Dísa... Seing a beast always means danger too.
