Chapter Break Filler - Planning and Organization

I think we can try to have it all, and let's see what happens, each on its time. Now we plan the Yoinktober, and do our best, as always!

Sorry for being a little out lately. But I'm fully back, and ready to participate in everything! Hugs!

Chapter break is coming up in about two weeks! (Which is to say, about 22nd)

This would be the first time in ages we have time to prepare. On the other hand, YoinkTober is still ongoing. Do we want to do double events?

So, am I right in understanding that there will be no chapter break filler, other than the ongoing YoinkTober? Which is great! But will likely end before the break does.

Maybe we could add the rest of the time to YoinkTober in some way with the general prompt "Change and Transformation", giving everyone the option to to a big final piece if they wish (of course also those who didn´t participate in YoinkTober may do one).
But that´s just an idea, not sure if that would work. Any opinions?

That sounds like a smart move.

Damn, though, it does feel kinda weird that there won't be any more of this. I think especially for me because it's something I started it's an odd feeling that it's ended. But it was good while it lasted, and you (especially you, Jitter) really did a wonderful job of keeping it going.

I feel a bit sad. But then the murders began* I remember that we will surely have more events** in the future. It's just they won't be sandwiched in one or two weeks.

* Sorry, it's the habit!

** I'm expecting us to have at least the yoinktober and the advent calendar, but maybe we should realize a Midsummer/Midwinter Festival (It's winter for all our friends on the southern hemisphere), because those two are close to the end of the year.

Do we want to consider observing the canon birthdays of the main cast, like, a day or week?  We will have just missed the Tuuri/Reynir double, but Lalli's is coming up on 20 April, and Emil's on 1 June, etc.  Not a full-on event perhaps, although Emil could kick off the Mid-winter Christmas summer event.
I could start up an Art Telephone, maybe?  Not necessarily in conjunction with the above.

We could make a new topic around the lines of “Event suggestions and planning”? I assume it’s likely easier for new people to suggest than start an event, and anyone may wish to gauge interest before starting one?

We had some ideas for the chapter breaks that we never got around to doing, because the warnings we got towards the end came quite late. At least we were planning to do one where maybe three people have the same prompt, and the entire event (break) is made up by a a handful of such breaks. Now we have the same prompt to everyone on the Prompt of the Week and YoinkTober, but those are different from the Chapter Break Fillers which had the preparation time and maybe had some more planning and effort into them. So, I think we could still be arranging similar events of the type where we develop the prompts first and then everyone who is interested reserves their slot. We just need a theme or something to anchor it on. Cast birthdays seem like a good alternative!

Just throwing a few thoughts on the topic:

My first idea reading Wave's post was to celebrate cast's birthdays on the prompt of the week. Since we know the dates it would allow time to prepare contributions.

I'm not sure that with the Forum's current "population" we can have many special events. We already have several ongoing, everyday things (prompt of the week, haiku chain, etc...), so maybe we should, for the moment, play small and focus on two or three events, that would be yoinktober, advent calendar and midsummer/midwinter.

On the other hand it's well known that increasing supply frequently bolsters demand, because members would have more chance to find something that inspires them to participate.

That last point was my reasoning. 
It's a bit of a conundrum, though, because the most active among us try to paerticipate in everything to prop up the numbers and engender interest, and are therefore more likely to burn out!

Then let me say that I really really enjoyed those events!!! They´re a big part of why I joined this forum!!! Thank you once again to everyone who organized them!!!

And let me jump around in excitement and waving: Here! Present! I´d love there to be Yoinktober again this year, I´ll definitly come out of hiding and participate!
(I just generally don´t have that much time right now due to 3D-artschool which is why I haven´t been around much, but Yoinktober is definitly happening for me!)

And the prompt of the week is probably the largest event ever created in the Forum! And the slowest too! Anyway it's great, and I'm very glad we have it!
