Any type of work or technique, as long as it’s shareable digitally either here on the forum or from a publicly accessible link, is welcome! On the first round we had at least poetry, art (digital and on paper + scanned), music, digital works, stories, photos and cosplay (off the top of my head, I didn’t check so please forgive me if your technique wasn’t mentioned!)

While the prompts have been developed around the theme of progressing life stages, your take in the prompt is your own and does not need to adhere the theme. I also encourage you to consider the prompts and themes in the wider setting of the world of SSSS, with non-canon characters or those who have had a very minor role. Does the train guard have a family? How did the Remembering Man come to work in Bornholm travel hub? Did Kauko befriend the sparrows before or after he learned to walk? We don’t have much background on how courtship and family matters are arranged, are the customs and mores very old-fashioned or do they reflect the very open societies of Y0 Nordics, so there’s lots of wiggle room!

EDIT I’m sure you understood, but just to be clear, what I said about minor characters etc was meant as inspiration, not instruction! Use who you want:)

Well I'm tickled pink that you liked my prompts - though I agree decay is a downer. Maybe someone can come up with a cheery take on it!

I'm officially On Vacation for once, but I don't think I should commit to anything - my vacation is going to be busy with gardening and house renovations and I'm too likely to forget! Perhaps I'll drop in the odd extra, when I have time.

I'm looking forward to everybody's creative expressions of these. Make chapter break much less bleak! Thanks for getting the ball rolling, Keep Looking, and Jitter for keeping it going.

Now that my tests are over I can finally start writing again! I have an idea for '4. crawl', so I'll work on that one. This will be posted on the 4th day of the chapter break, right?

I've modified the first post to point people to your prompt list, Jitter! (and honestly, thank you so much for doing the organisation this time around)

If it's not already taken, can I take prompt no. 18: contentment?

Also, I find it made things easier to strikethrough the taken prompts on the prompt list, so people know which ones were taken. Of course, you can't keep up with it 24/7 and you may well be asleep at the time I'm posting this, but if that's something you want to do as well, it's a pretty decent idea.

Phocena, that’s right, the number of the prompt is the number of days into the break your work is to be posted. You are to prepare it a bit in advance to help the organiser, the exact times are in the rules and it will be announced who to send it to when we know the break starting time.

In any case with the early prompts it’s probably best to get started.

Pinch hitters also sought, enlist here or by PM to me!

A pinch hitter is a person who is willing to fill in if one of the original creators runs into trouble and can’t complete their work in time. If you enlist, you will be contacted if needed but obviously it also depends on your situation at the time. In any case it means willingness to try and produce something on a prompt given to you in a short timeframe, meaning also that it’s something smallish.

I can promise one pinch hit myself.

I don't feel like being a "main" contributer this time over because my work hiatus is going to end in about 20 minutes and the creative juices are currently a trickle that I've used almost entirely on a new chapter of the fic I'm insisting on churning out 6000 words at a time.
