So, this got into my head and I had to get it out. I'm much faster with line art of some sort, even if it's only an etch line art type of thing, like here. (Seriously - that was my method here. Hmm, after putting the watermark on it, the white background received some gray outlines. The original doesn't have those.

On white backgrounds this would be unnoticable, on any other background it would show up. Buuuut the watermarking program I use seems to have a problem with white that has less than full opacity, so the white turned into grey...

I was wondering... what's at the back of Hannu's neck? Is he feeling the (formerly) injured place on his head with his left hand? Those fingers look faintly creepy -- although that's probably just because I'm thinking of them in the context of the Water Moose-Monster's elegantly sinister black hands.

I would love to read an entire chapter just with the two of them telling stories of pranks they pulled and how they almost got killed by a bear one time, and how they almost drowned Hannu that other time, and how they always drive Mr. Kuikka mad.

@Luth, no need to worry yourself about repeat posting! It's okay! ;pThank you! for the shading I used some tricks I picked up from callipygous's tutorial on shading. (change hue, not just darkness)
Anyway! I like the colour palette you're using. The results sure look different in watercolour vs ink...
Do you work from scanned lineart, or are you drawing directly on the screen? (Tablets are a mystery to me o3o )Well, neither, sort of. I do the lineart digitally, but I can't draw directly on the screen. You can get tablets that work like that but mine does not have a screen in it so it works by mapping points on the tablet to points on the screen so you use the pen on the tablet while looking at the screen. It's hard to explain...

I did a similar project in an art class I did a while ago, with the gridding. We put a grid on a black & white photo to do a value study. :)
Nice work, very convincing! Copying existing work is surprisingly difficult and a lot of work, especially with such a detail-rich style as Minna's. It looks really good!

I did a silly art challenge on Tumblr where people requested drawings of character pairings kissing. Most of the requests I got were for SSSS, but I also had one for Jonna/Riikka from aRTD! I hadn't drawn either of them before so it was a fun challenge. I'll definitely have to draw them again sometime. :))

Oooh, this looks great Luth! Shading skin with hatching is HARD (every time I've attempted in so far with my inktober drawings I just...fail) and you actually did a pretty good job with it. The contrast between the inside of his hood and his shirt is particularly nice. :)

I tend to lean toward instrumental music for aRTD, even if it isn't entirely obvious in the above playlist. Apocalyptica's music especially - I find it's really suiting for the darker, creepier parts of the comic. Their song Quutamo (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tatXkz93O50) was already mentioned in the tracklist above; the moment I heard it, I felt it was perfect. Path (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_oaPY0Brrw) is another one that I feel fits really well.

ooh, thats a cool idea! I noticed the constellation in the background is Orion, thats cool usually when people draw stars they just do it randomly. (Also i just realized its so fitting because Orion is the hunter and in that chapter hannu is a hunter!! that is epic symbolism right there, not sure if you planned that or not but that's awesome. :D)Totes did!
