For the past few days I've been alternating between listening to the new album by the so so talented Sia and the new album by Fleshgod Apocalypse.
Sia is my favorite "pop" artist (alongside Marina and the Diamonds) and I just found out she released a new album and it's fantastic like her previous ones.

Fleshgod Apocalypse is a band I just discovered. They are a symphonic death metal band and I think they sound very interesting. I like their album alright but I don't think it's very memorable. I don't know if I will return to them much after I have had "my fill" of them the first time.
Pretentious? Moi?

Yuuago, excellent to find another fan of 'Great Big Sea'! Here, my friend Mark and I seem to be the only people who have heard of them. If you like their work you might well enjoy Stan Rogers, Gordon Bok and Archie Fisher.

Huh. They're very commonly liked in my circle. Granted, many of my friends are filkers,

Great Big Sea has always been verrrry popular in my area, because there are a lot of people from Atlantic Canada living up here.
Stan Rogers I'm already familiar with, but the other two don't ring a bell. I'll have to look into them. < 3

Aaaand now for some Wintersleep, a band from Halifax, Canada. < 3 Their music always makes me feel so nostalgic for the time when I was living in Nova Scotia - their music was super popular in my university town, and it was practically everywhere.
'Weighty Ghost' is my favourite song by them.

Riverside, a cool band whose guitarist sadly passed away recently.

Wow, they're good, sad to hear about the guitarist. Wikipedia says they're Polish, I never would have guessed.
