Clint Eastwood - Easily their biggest song.  Just fantastic.

I know the whole rap in that song by heart cx

Quote
I don't listen to much rap either, except Gorillaz.  They make it good.  They have a lot of rap and techno elements, and a really unique style.  Very creative band.  Also, the members of the band are... animated?  They don't even represent actual people, they're just characters.

Edit:  I think the art style is worth mentioning as well.  The animation is really nice to watch, and done by the artist who made "Tank Girl."  Really creepy, cool stuff.

Yes to all of this! And the fact that they're a fictional band just makes it all the more interesting, in my opinion. They even have this long, weird, complicated story about how the band got together :D And the art style. Where do I even begin? It's just absolutely awesome. Jamie Hewlett has this weird talent for drawing things in a very "ugly" way (in the sense that he never draws anyone looking stereotypically pretty), and like Eich said, it just looks really creepy and also incredibly cool

Wow, so many great suggestions! My ears thank you!

I noticed a lot of European/North American music. Therefore, I'd like to introduce one of my all time favorite songs, all the way from the shores of Brazil! Os Mutantes: A minha menina

Also, as general genres, I like African Palm Wine music and Caribbean Calypso.

And, because I have to represent my hometown:
Doomtree No Homeowners
Atmosphere Sunshine
Brother Ali Forrest Whitiker

Chinese:  :)
Zhang xuan Bao bei
Wang lihom Heroes of the Earth
Richie Ren Kan guo lai
Hua Er Yue Dui Zi shua shua

Rock:
Puscifer The Mission
Ludo Love Me Dead

Foreign:
Philipp Dittberner and Marv Wolke 4
Fiva and Das Phantom Orchester Die Stadt gehört wieder mir
??????? ????????
????????? ????? ???????
(apologies for the last two, I dont know russian or japanese, so i dont know how to write them phonetically. Honestly, i dont even know how to pronounce them  :P)

Also, Solovei, if you like Gorillaz but not rap, I recommend Re-hash, Tomorrow Comes Today, El Manana, and Dare.

Oh my gosh! Solovei! It makes me so happy when people from outside the Twin Cities have heard of Doomtree! If you can, you should try to come to one of their annual blowout shows they have every December! It's seriously so good!

hehe, I didn't know what part of Canada you were in. There are parts of Canada that are very close to Minnesota.

Not very interesting parts though.

For Sunflower and Sadoka Ytrap

Here's a quick playlist of some Finnish and Sami folk music and some freak-folk. Some of it's neo-folk and some trad. I'll add some other sounds and links in later. Folk isn't really my thing, but I do like it when artists take old stories and forms and breathe new life into them - just like Minna does with her art and storytelling.

Tenhi - Kausienranta
Suden Aika : Varjosta - Out of the Shadows
Suo - Hiiden hirvi (The Devil's Moose)
Värttinä - Tauti (disease)
Hedningarna- Aivoton
Kardemimmit - Tuonen tytto?
Adjágas - Mun ja Mun
Angelin Tytöt - Giddat
Yona & Orkesteri Liikkuvat Pilvet - Shhh...
Lau Nau - Valolle
Kiila - Viisi Hirvasta
Islaja: Pimeyttä kohti
Hexvessel - Woods to Conjure
Pekko Käppi - Sen jalat oli multaset

Props to Laowei for mentioning Atmosphere; Flicker was one of my favourite songs of last year, wipes away a tear for Eyedea.

This song actually makes me think of this comic and its beautiful universe.

This and this, at the same time.

It is beautiful and just... the best thing, the best.

(Also that second link is just about perfect with anything.)

Rainymood is the best. :D I like it with Hammock.

I probably use too many ambient noise sites. (Noisli is my favorite, though)

Felt like leaving this here before bed.
I'm starting it at a certain song, but some of the other ones are quite good too.  Lovely track, this.

Also have Steve Wilson.
