I've just gotten into the Heathers musical, and WOAH!!!! What a phenominal soundtrack!!!! Like, wow! I could listen to 'Beautiful' and  'Candy Store' and 'Freeze Your Brain' and 'Meant To Be Yours' for the rest of eternity (WARNING: The Heathers musical has strong language, satirical homophobia [some football jocks are homophobic as part of how close-minded and crude they are], a HEAVY theme of bullying, murder, mass murder, and suicide, as well as a focus on the glamorization of suicide and how lame it is. There's also implications of abuse, alcoholism, mentions of drugs and some blatant nsfw stuff ['Dead Girl Walking' is essentially 'I'm Doomed, Best Find My Guy And Get It On', and the aforementioned football jocks spread some disgusting rumors about the protagonist]. Honestly, go into this musical with caution, as some songs can actually be a little intense.)!! The acting and singing is phenomenal, and while certain aspects of the musical differ from the movie (Personally, I like the movie more, but that doesn't mean I dislike the musical in the slightest), like JD's motivations and certain character roles, it's such a good show all around oh my g o s h - Listen for yourself to some of my faves!! (Warning: 'Beautiful' and 'Candy Store' contain crude language and offensive insults, along with a light, nonchalant reference to eating disorders [Beautiful] that some may not be fans of. 'Freeze Your Brain' references cocaine, familial death, and a neglective parent. 'Meant To Be Yours' is a big ol' villain song, with some creepy lines here and there and blatant exclamations that the singer is going to kill a lot more people and make it look like suicides - And towards the end of the song he sees that the protagonist has supposedly killed herself, which could upset some listeners. The song also contains a few heavy curses, which is common in all the Heathers musical songs, actually.)

Sorry for the link dump, I'm just, aaaaa! So excited!!!
I survived the :chap11: break!!

So this is my very favorite string quarter piece by Norwegian composer Grieg, who's one of those neat composers where everyone has heard his works before whether they realize it not, such as Morning Mood and Hall of the Mountain King from the Peer Gynt suite.

Anyway I found out about this piece when I saw it performed by a string quartet a friend of mine at the time played second violin for, and it was definitely one of my favorite and most intense experiences of seeing a piece played live (maybe only topped by that time I got to see Rite of Spring played by the Orcheste National de France  :D )

Also, this piece is 40 minutes long but don't think you have to listen to all of it to enjoy it. IMO the first ten minutes are the best anyway and I frequently don't listen past that. Heck even just the first 3 or 4 minutes are pretty great.

Sorry, this song is pretty everything and I know Epona's a Celtic horse goddess and that's likely what the song is referring to, but I can't help but think of this  :P
