Not a big fan of the original "Summertime Sadness" - it just seems too mopey and... well... dead to me. But I'm really getting to like this cover:

It just sounds so much more... alive. It actually sounds like stormclouds to me. Man, I love it when metal bands cover otherwise bland songs and actually make them sound good.
Oh wow. I never liked the original song, but I agree, this is better!

Listening to the Pachelbel Rant led me to Blues Traveler's Hook, which led me to 90s alternative, and not one song I have listened to in that genre has left my head in the few days I've listened to them.

Save me from this hell. Someone please give me a stronger earworm than Pachelbel's chords.

Usually Sufjan Steven's music is so soft and mellow with lotsa banjo, fiddle, and acoustic guitar that makes me feel like I'm laying down on a old growth forest floor sometime in late summer after a long bike ride by the lake. But I really love when he does more interesting and experimental stuff like this.

It's a Gordon Lightfoot kind of morning.... "Sundown" is a pretty good song. (Not my favourite of his, but pretty good.)

Actually, it might well be my favourite of his (true story, the first major concert I saw was Gordon Lightfoot).

This appeared on a Spotify playlist this morning

Childbirth, "Siri, Open Tinder"

♪ ♫ ♪ Ah, for just one time I would take the Northwest Passage; to find the hand of Franklin reaching for the Beaufort Sea

Ffffffff that discovery of Franklin's ship has made me rather emotional, and that means I've a mighty need to listen to some Stan Rogers.
