Walk Off The Earth - California Trees

Probably posted this a while back, buuuut posting it again, because it's stuck in my head again.... Such a good song.

This is a delightfully sinister sounding piece from Prokofiev's 1935 'Romeo and Juliet' ballet. A long standing favorite of mine 

I love this piece, but find it a bit hard to take seriously after it was used as the theme to a Saturday morning TV show that featured CGI fly-people marching into a giant fly head, which burped at the end

György Ligeti's Lux Aeterna, one of several haunting pieces that were used in the movie "2001: a Space Odyssey". This is an entirely choral piece, with no instrument, but 16 singers each with a slightly different part.

This is my all time favorite orchestral song, just listen to the brass it's sooo good!

I DID WOW

If it hadn't been pointed out that this was entirely a capella I don't know if I would have noticed right away because some of the voices are so eerie and other-wordly sounding that it's almost hard to believe it's a person and not something artificial making that sound.

Speaking of eerie and other-wordly artificial sounds *gets urge to dig up a bunch of theremin and  ondes martenot music* ACTUALLY BETTER YET how about I share with you guys a lovely instrument called the 'waterphone' ? It's used a lot in the making of horror film soundtracks, you'll probably recognize its sound if you've seen enough spooky movies.

I actually had a trawl around the net to see if I could find it. Sadly FlyTV ran for only two years in Australia in the early 2000s and nothing much of it seems to have survived

Some of you may have already heard of Detektivbyrån, they're a Swedish music group who do both electronic and folk music usually with their music being a delightful blend of the two. I love this song so much, it gives me some serious feels, it sounds innocent but sad but positive all at the same time.
