Personally I've always been really fond of Andrew Bird. He's pretty soothing and delightful.

Oooh, I LOVE Andrew Bird! I'm pretty sure he could be singing about anything and as long as he played the violin to go along with it I would listen. I'll have to check out Owen Pallett now too.

If you like Andrew Bird and end up liking Owen Pallett I really recommend Sufjan Stevens if you haven't already heard of him. He's got a vaguely similar style as those two, plus his music's also just super gorgeous and frequently has a lot of pretty string instruments in it.

Oh yes, I definitely enjoy Sufjan as well! Haven't listened to him in a while, I should remedy that.

Yes !!! If you haven't heard the suite he collaborated with the Osso string quartet on making, it's called "Run Rabbit Run" and it's about the Chinese zodiac with a song for each zodiac animal. It's super gorgeous and I find myself going back to that one a lot.

I'm having a nostalgia morning again with 22-Pistepirkko's song Birdy. Reminds me of waking up at a friend's summer cottage, sunny summer mornings that are cold but you know the day's going to be a warm one. Rowing on the lake, having sauna in the evening. Endless mosquitoes.

Nest - Hunt

Dark ambient normally isn't quite my jam, but this band is really starting to grab me. :Va

OH MAN I kind of lost interest in Kamelot when I heard they were going to change vocalists (I believe my reaction was an overdramatic "NOOOO nobody can replace Khan!"), but then the other day I actually got around to hearing some of their new music ("Liar, Liar" specifically) and... I am so pleased. Their music still has the exact same feel that it always has. *_* Okay, okay, I might need to actually get into their new stuff now...

I have a passing familiarity with Kamelot, and keep telling myself I should check out more of their music. I guess now would be a good time?

*snert* Top (driving) speed: 0.6 km/h (0.375 mph). They seriously considered doing a complete disassemble-transport-reassemble instead to get it from one mine to the next, and having it drive the 22 km supposedly was more economic by a less than impressive margin.

I'm low key obsessed with this song. I just love the tonality of it. Actually this artist just in general has great tonality.
