I have been playing piano for about 6 years now, decided to record while I was playing. Enjoy! Just improv, no sheet music. https://soundcloud.com/luth-nightbreeze/piano-improv-x

Also, the coolest song ever, Baba Yetu from Civilization 4. (My brother's band is playing it.)

Edit: The video isn't my brother's band, they're playing the song in a concert later this year.

A random collection of songs I like

Marina And The Diamonds - Obsessions (pop) The first song I ever heard by her and I instantly fell in love with her voice.

Leprous - Mediocrity Wins (progmetal) Einar Solberg also has an great voice

Ochre - Raido (genre: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) My fave song by my fave electronic artist but this song isn't very electronic sounding... that guitar ah.

Jethro Tull (prog/folk rock)

Ghost In The Circuit - Velvet Acid Christ (electro-industrial?)

Mastodon - Octopus Has No Friends (metal)

Two different versions of the same song
gentle:

and storm:

Double H, I just happened to be looking at the insert this morning for lyrics and read the whole thing. The idea for this was based on actual historical documents, or so it says. I think that's very cool.

Arjen Lucassen usually has some kind of concept for his albums, he even has different bands dedicated to different concepts. For example every song by Star One is based on a different sci-fi movie.

Personally I've always been really fond of Andrew Bird. He's pretty soothing and delightful.

Kind of in the same vein of things is Owen Pallett. (he used to go by Final Fantasy but now just goes by his name) I'm actually pretty proud of Owen Pallett because he's moved into the world of doing larger symphonic scores and film scores, including doing the film score for the movie 'Her' that came out a few years ago, the one about the guy who falls in love with an AI computer program (which I kind of saw just because I heard Owen Pallett was partaking in doing the score for it hehe)

It kinda seems like I just like music made by weird quiet skinny guys who play the violin =P

So I guess breaking that trend is Joanna Newsom. She's such an adorable and wonderful person too, if I'm not mistaken she makes all of her own album covers so she's a very talented visual artist as well, what's not to love ?

Illusion - Krassimir Avramov (Eurovision 2009 - Bulgaria)
The official video for this is actually pretty neat, but on the nsfw side, so just linking a coverscreen version for this one...

I've been listening to so much mediocre Eurovision music lately, because I find it's actually really good for when I'm trying to get work done. orz (Not to mention, I miiiight already be getting a little pumped for Eurovision...) The live performance for this one was preeeetty dire but... the more I listen to the studio version, the more I like it.
