The deadly glare
The silent dare:
"Take it or leave it
But don't have a fit.
This is all the money you're getting,
Now off, shoo-shoo--
This is your problem for fretting,
Mine is now through."
- by Terra Wolfe

Are they cousins, are they not,
did they just meet on the spot?
Is he a Reynisson, is she an Eide,
maybe one has its hair red-dyed?
Are they even related at all?
is their knowledge of each other small?
Meh, I dont know what to say,
is he a "desperate to get away
from sheep" stowaway?
- by Nimphy

Cut the budget, cut it down!
Says the lady with no frown,
we don't need no food or cat,
here and there - just trim some fat!

Night-scout, day-scout all in one,
the map reader, too, is gone,
things to move there are a ton,
things to leave of course are none!

What else can we just erase?
Transport, food, a stable base?
Hunting sure they won't mind,
of course animals they'll find!

Now let's see what we have left,
erase that one, won't it be best?
I'm pretty sure they'll cope with us,
after all they WILL be dressed!
- by Nimphy

our budget is small
things are at a crawl
they have to find a way to get things down
or this expedition will never get out of town

getting rid of this and that
cutting out all the brick and brack
trimming out all the fat
even getting rid of the cat

gotten rid of so much stuff
even stuff they need
getting rid of all the fluff
as there sitting down to tea

they've cut it down and made it fit budget
its almost certain they will die
it well be a miracle if they come back alive
if they come back at all

Cold and wet through the winter--
Hardships pursue us.

Raise your glasses
cheers, cheers,
to our bravery!

Drink them quickly,
skål, skål,
we're revolutionary!

We're celebrating,
kippis, kippis,
our great courage with

Liquid gold,
cin-cin, cin-cin,
We will be a myth!
- by Nimphy

(for the page)

Raise your glasses, raise your voices,
Raises your hopes, and raise a toast--
We'll pull back the veils of the unknown!

Funds and money cuts,
But just this once we'll have some juice--
Let's have a drink to ourselves!

Idiots and weirdos we must hire,
But that's okay, we'll guide them--
And pull back the veil of the unknown!

(for the fans)

Raise your mouses, raise your keyboards,
Raises your hopes, and raise a toast--
The map is coming soon!
(And the first chapter!).

The prologue in nearly done,
But just this once we'll celebrate--
Let's have a toast to ourselves!
(Actually we celebrate all the time).

Idiots and weirdos fill the cast,
But that's okay, we still love them--
Let's have a cheer for the characters!
(And the author).

Oh, dear God. I'm getting into pages with 300+ comments now.

Truly the Gods of North ensured our survival,
while others suffered a fate far worse than death,
and now our society is going through a revival
of ancient traditions we learned to accept.

Icelanders, so great, were all of them spared,
by will of the Gods, who safe them declared,
their knowledge is great, they are so advanced,
and rejection of history their faith much enhanced.

Norwegians so brave, seafarers so proud,
to monsters and giants they never once bowed.
Proud warriors are they, and company sweet,
at our great table they'll always have a seat.

The Danes of old lore and misfortune so great,
always refused to accept their sealed fate.
Their homeland they dream, the world they would fight,
warriors so stubborn, yet people so bright.

Them Swedes with their fire, the weapons in hand,
fight with courage to cleanse the banned land.
The Gods they refuse, and why shouldn't they?
Such a thriving culture was never seen in our day!

And last with their culture, al least in our ages,
are primitive Finns, with their many mages.
They talk nonsense words, and aren't too bright,
but never do underestimate their might!

And please don't forget the great sacred Cats,
they keep away rash, they kill all the rats.
Though mysterious are they, we need them for sure
without their presence only dangers we'd lure!
- by Nimphy

Once upon a time
the only thing that we would trust
was the computers and the chime
of neon-lights and wanderlust

The gods were old
all but forgotten
hearts were cold
and faith was rotten

The only thing to lead us back
and show us all that we had lost
to help us get right back on track
the fire burned at every post

the past is gone
we just don't care
we all live on
the future's here

we fight to live
and fight again
and life will give
it leads my pen

I write it for the young ones
every generation reads
about the magic of the long-gones
and all our gods (exept the swedes)
- by me (This Cat)

Sit down, young one, and listen up!
Here, have some beer
(Not the bottle! Take a cup!)
You know of ancient gods,
who once dwelled on Asgard,
of humans and their world,
the old home of Midgard,
of giants so might and gnomes that disappear,
but did you know they're all still here?
Fight, young one, with spear and sword!
Fight on the mountain, the sea and the fjord!
Your life is on the line, don't let it down!
Fight for your life, or for the renown!
Remember, young one, your ancestors proud
they never hided, they never cowed.
Listen, young one, and never forget,
these are certainly not days with no threat!

If you go to far north, west, south or east
There is a great chance that you will come across a Beast
Do not run away, do not make a sound
Because the Beasts, they hear everything, and you will be found
Stand still, stay silent, hide and pray
Then it might go away, it *might* go away...
- by  Ffaunax

The broken monster
Its limbs of twisted branches
Mad screaming within

Do you wish for death?
It will grant that should it see
Stand still, stay silent.
- by Michael

Lost was the girl in the forest,
looking for mushrooms was she.
Woods' delights she stops harvesting
Her body now wants to flee.
Maybe noticed the cat's fear...
Maybe did rustle that tree?
Maybe at it hissed the cat?
Who might this strange, new friend be?

Don't even dare to run, dear.
And this is no friend, you see.

Now you hide, you keep silent,
the nightmare has come to be.
It's crawling, the scythe clawed anguish.
I't's crawling, just behind me!
And the gaunt was marching, marching.
And now she will scream, she'll scream!

Now you hide, you stay silent,
And stand still, for it will leave.
- Headfinder

Silent step through the shadows
Under trees the wind blows freely
Wind, it blows contrary and
Thought, I, prey was near me
Eyes are dulled, my fingers itching,
Hunger calls and I keep moving
Always seeking, always stirring
- by White Mouse

The gods had saved us from the rash
Though so steep a price we had paid
But the fog is lifting, and so with monsters we clash!
To repave the path that was laid

(Oh Let the trolls all temble
Let the giants in anger roar!
For our clever captain leads our assemble
With the help of our leaders four!

We march where springs flow and bubble
Across the mountains and shore!
Never stopping for sickness or trouble
We will stand still and silent no more!)

Many a year has passed us by
and still on this island we stay
Silent, and still, trying not to die
Enough with caution we say!

(Chorus)
So Courage lift the veil of fear!
Let us face the fate the gods have in store
But never you fret, or worry my dear!
So shall we return,
and stand still, stay silent
stand still, stay silent
stand still, stay silent no more!

The bone-white swan with her down of death
Stalks this place. Her Beasts like broken trees,
Broken arms, they walk this place. A light,
A fire bright, it burns this place,
In the flame, the white swan driven back.

The barren hag of rag and spite with her claws of hate
Knows this place. Her Giants with their hearts
And eyes of stone, they break this place. Harsh steel,
Rung on silver bells and whetstones,
The hag was driven from her dying land.

The gods of thunder forest dark, they knew this place,
Though it was taken from their hands before.
Through stone and steel and fire bright they cast this place
To shadow before dusk will take her toll.

Six walking lands forbidden, lands forgotten,
Their wary eyes all searching, their quarry slow and seen,
The silent lands will take them in, and stillness let them through,
Standing still, staying silent, their journey bright and new.

Dreams of the Ancients

What had awoken from the dark bowels,
from the past ancient, myth and of legend?
Did the gods think us punish with memory,
of what once dwelt there in mind of the Mankind?

World this was shattered, like a glass bower,
fell were the winds that carried the sickness,
succumbed all nations, curse was upon them
laid and new horrors nightmarish were bred then.

Form of Man, of Beast was then twisted,
horrors bred night and day in its wake when
pestilence birthed out of the depths these
endless streams of abominations.

Chaos upon this world did descend and
fought Mankind itself and the monsters,
flames and fever both did they burn us,
barren was swept this blessed and good earth.

Life almost extinquished, barely left standing
Mankind crawled on through ashes of madness,
thus it was changed forever our Fate here,
comprehend none could why this befell us.

Slowly we marched back down to a dark age,
memories fading and all history written,
peoples forgot life former and glory
won in the golden years of the Mankind.

Turned to the past were our eyes ever eager,
searching for solace, invoked were the gods and
salvation we sought from prayers and legends,
miracles hoped all to stave off the darkness.

Dreams of the Ancients, dreams we awakened,
for in our souls we rejected the madness,
was torn to pieces our small comprehension,
fled to the past our minds from the horror.

What were then named the monsters of future?
Cursed they became as demons and giants,
trolls and as beasts mighty yet mindless,
that hunted Man, his terror and torment.

On flowed the river, the tale of years quickened,
history faded replaced was by legend,
legends in turn were by myths overtaken,
lost was so much that should not be forgotten.

Yet there is hope for the heroes of Mankind,
their quest to light the flame of the truth and
awaken the world from this age of fell dreaming,
so that our Fate might bloom in its fullness.

A Lyrical Cat

A lyrical cat has a very fine nose,
for poetry, songs and even for prose,
as attentively listens to reading and song
he's occupied in this work all the day long.

He has a good eye for a beautiful rhyme,
He thinks an unfinished sentence a crime,
if symphonic work deems of especial praise,
a graceful paw waving in air he will raise.

My lyrical cat kennings loves and old names,
he meters adores and plays witty word games,
he riddles like master, he jokes like a clown,
but low brow jocundity elicits his frown.

This feline white pawed of all dancing is fond,
he menuets, quadrills performs by the pond,
with dizzying pace dances so sleek and fleet,
of cat-dom most graceful he is on his feet.

Activities all these of culture and grace,
make my cat undoubtedly prime of his race,
his work and his hobby his constant delight
continues with fervor from morning till night.

Ever-courteous love to high culture he shows,
yet after long day, and this everyone knows,
he likes nothing better than sleep in my lap
as I sing to him softly for his lullabied nap.
- by Mikko Ojala

Six in the dusk
Six in the night
Six as still as a bird in startled flight.
Six in forgotten lands
Six in a fight
Six as silent as a forest burning bright.
Six searching avidly
Six lost amid the blight
Six shall be found again
And bring with them the light.
- by Michael

When forest echoes with howls so shrill,
when monsters roam, thirst for blood and kill,
then advice give precious to you I will,
Stay silent, hide and then just stand still.
- by Mikko Ojala

Three by Michael

Don't take a step
Monsters abound
They'll hear the crunch of leaves.
Don't make make a noise
Beasts walk the woods
They'll feel your voice
On ears and skin.
You're a stranger, here.
Not your world anymore.
Go back to where you came from,
take your fire and your death.
The woods are old
They tired of you once.
They can forget you again
so long as you
Stand Still,
Stay Silent.

Still as a leaf held before the last autumn breeze.
Silent as the ice-rimed pool in winter's sudden freeze.
Safe as the snow-hare, his coat of brown now shed
Careful as an owl high who dives to claw poor hare now dead.

When you go walking down old roads
Where men have ceased to tread,
You'll come across a Beast or three
All painted blue and red.
In the shadows, looming shadows
hiding from your sight
the Trolls and Hags and Beasts all round
they come by day or night.
So how might you avoid their teeth,
their awful gnashing gnaws?
Stand Still, Stay Silent as the grave

OR

you'll meet up close their jaws.

And one by Terra Wolfe:

Hush my friend,
Don't speak--
They might hear you.
Stop my friend,
Don't move--
They might see you.

If invisible we pretend
To be to those who seek,
If quiet are we few...
We must avoid the beasts that rend,
That our survival we may prove--
If only we hide from their seeking view.

Stand still,
Stay silent.

Us they will not kill,
Our hearts shan't be rent.

 Mostly quiet.

Title: Rain
Author: Aprillen

On the day of our departure
The rain came down
Like the indifference of gods
Sweeping the streets clean of human life
Bringing an early dusk
Drowning the distance
In its roaring downpour
Turning the world we were leaving
Silent

Title: The musings of an Icelandic mage
Author: ThisCat

One morning I was wide awake
long woken from such awful dreams
I'd dreamt about a silent lake
I'd known that nothing's as it seems

The surface broke without a sound
then pictures of my friends in pain
Our safewalls burned down to the ground
our efforts, then, were all in vain

I woke, and in the winter's dark
my clearest dream it lingered still
with trembling hands I lit a spark
A tiny flame to fight the chill.

I wrote my thoughts to calm my heart
and very soon again I knew
to tell the real and dream apart
I knew then, clearly, what to do

As morning came I warned the men
the scouts set out to find the lake
Some hours late they came again
and in a day they'd killed the drake

My gift is great, I trained it well
unpleasant though it is to hold
I know to handle every spell
and ward my loved ones from the cold

Title: Tale of a Finnish Mage
Author: Me (AKA Nimphy)

I woke up to sun's soft light
In my mind - still fresh it seemed
Memories of th'previous night
Tasks of beasts to be redeemed

And thus began another day,
In woods so wild, a shriek in th'air,
with not a doubt, I recite my prayer:
the Gods to guide this soul so stray

The monster shrieked once more in pain,
blindly clawing towards me,
his efforts were all in vain
as trees moved, finally free.

The snow blew violent in his eyes,
wooden claws soon mauled his skin,
as I called to the great skies,
and the clouds began to spin.

Spirits came to me in help,
loudly calling for his soul,
then the beast, with one last yelp,
fell just like a lifeless doll.

My gift is great, I trained it well,
and pleasant sure it is to hold,
I know to handle every spell
and ward my kin from beasts of old

Stand still--
Stay silent.
Let past
The clawing giant.

Still.
Not a blink, never dare glance around.
Silent.
Not a breath, not a step, not a sound.

Stand still-
Silent stay.
And live to see
Another day.

Freedom for potatoes!
Join us, rise up from the mud!
Come, O earthy bulbous tubers!
Come every fry and eye and spud!

Bring your families, bring your jackets,
Rank among the unafraid;
Leave behind the kitchen-garden,
Join the 'tater escapade!

No longer will they mash and chop us,
No longer will they roast us whole;
Hark! Our forest roots do call us,
So join! And free your starchy soul!

Show no panic, show no fear!
Something moving up ahead?
Show no terror, show no dread!
Rustling leaves off to the side?
Do not run and do not hide!

Stay as still as if in death!
If you do not flee or cry,
Danger might just pass you by.

Darling, will you hold me tight?
Stay here with me all through the night?

I'm not quite sure how long I've got,
but I'm afraid it's not a lot.

Oh, darling, stay here by my side.
My legs are bound my arms are tied.

Oh honey, darling, hold me, please!
I'm terrified, put me at ease.

The monster's tearing through my head.
Oh help me please! I'm seeing red.

Your love and life you've let me lend,
now darling, stay here till the end?

Renga (japanese group poem) from page 69

Three travelers bright
happy with adventure's start.
Is a train coming?

Is adventure arriving?
Will we all be great heroes?

The only requirement is
To stand still-- to stay silent.

When our adventure begins
will trouble find us, or not?
maybe we'll find it?

How on earth can we stand still,
So giddy with excitement?

We're so happy now,
our adventure will soon start,
There! Is that a train?

Adventure we've been promised,
But some do worry for us.

Shall we worry too?
For the fairy tales and trolls?
None of them are true!

They're just things we read about
In children's tales (so we hope)!

Come on, go on friend,
let's plunge into adventure,
troubles pursue us!

Trouble's better than boredom,
Better than jobs we hated!

So onward we go--
Opportunities await us!
New hopes and new dreams.

Dreams of strange things far away
Wonder's challenge and delight.

The Silent World hides
Things we cannot imagine
And can't wait to see.

Yes, those will be fairy tales
which are worth to believe in

Have you all your kit?
I'm sure there's more to think of.
Who cares? Adventure!

To speak of things to think of -
Kits we have, now where's the ride?

Here it is, the train!
Let our adventure begin
Travel the unknown!

Not much fear in the unknown
The rule: Stand Still Stay Silent.

Essentially
Four words for rule one, also
Who's going to cook?

Why, the Medic, naturally--
The funding was cut too short.

Let's hope he cooks good,
or else he will do his job:
if the food is bad.

'Less the food is really bad -
The sniper's job it is, then. ;-)

I wouldn't trust him...
Who knows how horrible he's
with edible food?

Can't be worse than the fabled
"extra crispy buns" baker

Psh, you all worry too much,
He's probably a sweetheart.

Two poets as one
Submitting the same format.
Engineer happy

Curd happens, says the former,
as the latter stays silent

And also stands still!
Be beware of them monsters,
they will eat you whole!

Trees and bushes in the woods
Murmur of sidedishes, though.

Trees, bushes or no
where we're heading monsters lurk
trolls, giants, our work

And sure our work they will be!
For we are adventurers.

"Aim high!", they told us.
What could we be aiming at
There, if not giants?

"Aim high" they said to us--well,
Gun or ambition--onward!

"Uh. Ops." said Scout-boy
I thought it was ambition,
I forgot my gun...

Curd happens, say I again
A scout needs but his eyes twain

Did I see magic
Collect below his palms once?
Some fallback he has!

Snakes of blue light they were, bright
Noituus of old legends, might

Magic! Yes indeed,
Who needs a sniper rifle,
With power so great?

Who needs it? The rest of us!
For what if he injured falls?

We have the Medic,
with his saw sharp, he will fix
Scout (or cut his hands)

Hope Medic won't get angry,
for he is... *terrifying*

*throws hands up and sighs*
An oath sworn to do no harm,
Is what binds a medic.

Normal state, in normal life.
Extremes turn people ... unbound.

The snow is falling gently down
the lights are shining red.
You'd think it was a quiet town,
an army base instead.

Around a corner comes our scout,
not briskly nor too slow,
He walks his normal evening-route
his head is hanging low.

Not tired, walks his path with grace,
he's fed up with it all?
Soon wanted in a different place,
what's his answer to this call?

Just four things are we certain of,
he's pretty and a boy,
has scouting skill that's not far off,
s'for everyone a joy.

Alternate last half with different rythm:

He doesn't seem too tired,
maybe fed up with it all.
He is shortly to be hired,
will he take this crazy call?

Of only four things are we sure:
that he is pretty and a boy,
he knows to scout for the impure
and for the readers he's a joy.

Combat-ready Expeditionary Kitty

Combat-ready expeditionary kitty
is wily and crafty, survivalist, witty,
has keen claws, teeth sharpest,
of felines he's smartest.

Through wilderness blighted,
through fen and through thicket,
hunts monsters delighted
and punishes wicked.

His nose ever twitching
taint senses and trouble
for action he's itching
so to quest on the double!

My brother is a mage
Of great knowledge and power
Be it spirits, be it wisdom, be it more
He has not left, not once before
Such a thought will make him cower

Our clever captain knows no fear
Through the silent lands she'll lead
And left behind all that we hold dear
but even she this rule must heed:

Beware the plague of itching death
Walk the lands with bated breath
If you meet a monster do not run!
Do not hide!
Or you will most surely die.

And if upon your path
Should such misfortune stray
Be it beast, be it troll, or be it giant;
Stand still! Stay silent!

It might just go away

I swear I just want to go,

sail through ice and storm and snow,
this weird mission undergo!

Now, don't worry, brother dear,
I'll be fine, 'kay? Have no fear!
I'm *qualified*, have all the gear
(and can't stand another year)

(But from Onni's point of view...)

Dangers, monsters lurk in there,
you old lady shouldn't dare!
Calling on my family
you're really not playing fair!

I'd be an idiot to go,
like... suicidal, you know!
Don't get angry, Tuuri, though
I'm sure you'll beat every foe!
(Ok,ok... maybe no...)

She left a note
Reminding him
To come and meet the boss.

About to leave is the boat,
And unprepared is this Finn...
Both actually--is the expedition a loss?

Without supplies or proper gear
Still they will go on without fear.

Hurry, hurry, we need go
Move it Lalli, the boat is moving
Hurry, hurry, we must be leaving
Farewell Onni, we must be going
Hurry, hurry, we need to go!

Crippling fear and biting terror,
sending shivers down your spine,
run from monsters, from the horror,
maybe cry and maybe whine.
We'll be fine, 'kay? We'll be fine.

Onni, onii-san, come with us!
I... I can't, I will stay here,
The ship is setting sail and thus
see you next spring, sister dear.
I'll be fine 'kay? I'll be fine

Ready for adventure, yes?
I will try and not excess
with danger and other stuff,
but don't worry, 'kay? I'm tough!
I'll be fine 'kay? I'll be fine

Three by Mikko Ojala:

Onni to Tuuri (Safe and Sound)

An omen let your name now be,
of luck if you refuse to stay with me,
the world is full of terror, fear,
you stay, sweet sister, do you hear!

You need not see this vast old globe,
the darkness, silence covers all,
there is not light, there is no hope,
I fear for you, that you might fall.

Stay here with me, stay safe and sound,
leave foolish notions, childish dreams,
perhaps one day cure will be found,
until that safer my plan seems!

Stay! Please! I will be all alone...

Tuuri to Onni (Farewells)

Oh Onni "Luck" thy name might be,
yet by fear crippled, you're not free.
My brother dear if you could see,
what means this journey, quest, to me.

I wish to see beyond these lands,
the narrow confines of this vale,
to feel the world with mine own hands,
to see, to hear, to tell its tale!

Beloved brother let me go,
the ship awaits at berth for me,
let fate's course run, its rivers flow,
it is my time, time to be free.

Taru to Tuuri and Lalli (Scout's Honour)

You'll be just fine, just do what's told,
no need for fear, oh don't be scared,
remember vow of scouts of old,
oh have no fear, just be prepared!

"You have no arms, no bedroll, food!?
oh doesn't matter, you're all good."
At least you undertake this quest have dared,
you are quite welcome unprepared!

Oh hurry up, the boat awaits,
the boatswain all this waiting hates,
Still, you might have somewhat better fared,
if you had come, like scouts, prepared.

This poem is one of my absolute favorites. It's just so angsty and the rhythm is easy to catch. Kudos, kudos, lyrical kitty!

Title: A Wildcat's Hiss
Author: ThisCat

Deep in the norwegian woodlands
I was born a forest cat.
Forest kitten more precicely
hardly bigger than a gnat.

My first winter was a bad one
hunters couldn't find a thing
Of my litter, seven siblings
only I survived 'till spring

Oft my mother took me hunting
for the mice-that-weren't-mice
and the snakes and birds and lizards
and the non-rats filled with lice.

At this endeavour I was blessed
with badger-strenght and cunning mind.
Such skills and speed then let me early
leave my catling home behind.

My curiousity'd not killed me
by my third surviving year.
Rather I had then been granted
sharper eye and keener ear.

I had learned through harsh experience
how to keep myself alive
even when I travelled places
where the monsters seemed to thrive.

One strange day on my adventure
my ears picked up a tiny sound
from a rather tiny creature
that a bigger one had found.

Powered by my trauma-riddled
memories of starving kin
my feet then led me quicly to
the place I thought the sound had been.

I led the beast so far away
then doubled back to let it roam
I calmed the young and tiny creature,
tracked my way to lead it home.

Once there I met another cat,
an arrogant but able 'pard
It taught me all about these things
and how they needed us to guard.

I stayed with them for several weeks
before my wanderlust arose
and once again I left a place
my legs to travel by my nose.

And this is how my life is now
between the farms and cityscapes.
Now and again sneak on a ship
to go around the windblown capes.

So if you say with certain voice:
an A-grade cat is where it is,
I meaow at you with what I've got:
You'd rather have a wildcat's hiss.

Title: ???
Author: Me, AKA Nimphy

Golden eyes and soft black fur,
a low, majestic, regal purrrr,
the sharp, deadly claws,
the soft, furry paws,
such is one of the Blessed Felines

It hunts its prey with innate grace,
up and down - never stops its chase,
and the prey quickly dies,
and the cat eats its prize,
so hunts one of the Blessed Felines.

If you don’t want to be the next prey,
be respectful, stay away,
it’ll let you live today,
if you just obey
to the great Blessed Felines.

Title: Sing of the Blessed Felines
Author: Ffaunax

When all the world was dying
we survived, against all odds
we are the blessed felines
chosen by the gods

to guard this world from vile creatures
and Beasts that roam these lands
we stand together with the humans
with our blessed paws we guide their hands

with our blessed senses we help them see
the dangers that are lurking
we cannot let our attention drop
ever watching, ever working

for we, soldier cats
have been chosen for this goal:
to free these lands from darkness
to regain the world this Illness stole

Title: Grade A Expeditionary Kitty
Author: Mikko (AKA Incanus)

Combat-ready expeditionary kitty
is wily and crafty, survivalist, witty,
has keen claws, teeth sharpest,
of felines he's smartest.

He is highly trained,
of Grade A, educated,
status he has now gained,
by all cats celebrated!

For services rendered
was collar awarded,
world silent he entered,
there enemies thwarted.

Through wilderness blighted,
through fen and through thicket,
hunts monsters delighted
and punishes wicked.

Where ever he roams
by all trusted, respected
keeps safe hearths and homes
by his skills well-protected.

His nose ever twitching
taint senses and trouble
for action he's itching
so to quest on the double!

Be it good, be it bad, be it magic

Poor Lalli it would seem

His thoughts? Forgotten!

But he is a scout good and true...

I have seen the walls around me
heavy walls,
so sturdy walls
I have known the walls around me
boring walls,
like prison walls
I know they keep me safe.

I have heard the world outside them
vaster world,
so big a world
stories of a world outside them
awesome world,
an unknown world
I know it's dangerous

I have seen the great lake's monsters
scary monsters,
hungry monsters
I have seen the forest's monsters
creeping monsters,
hidden monsters
I know they'll kill me quick

I am leaving on a big boat
silent boat,
an unsafe boat
we are leaving on a big boat
exiting boat,
a leaving boat
I know it will be fun

Rules.

Behave!
Or shusher cat will shush you.
Be brave!
Or trainer cat will scold you.

Silent!

And Vellamo will protect.
Stand still!

Title: A Wildcat's Hiss
Author: ThisCat

Deep in the norwegian woodlands

...

This is actually the short version of the poem, the long version is on deviantart.
Here you go:

Deep in the norwegian woodlands

hardly bigger than a gnat.

My first winter was a bad one
hunters couldn't find a thing
Of my litter, seven siblings

from a rather tiny creature
that a bigger one had found.

Powered by my trauma-riddled
memories of starving kin
my feet then led me quicly to
the place I thought the sound had been.

On my arrival I could see
so easily that I'd been right.
This oddly shaped and furless creature
sat right in the monster's sight.

And I could feel this towering thing
it's strength so far too much for me,
but I was faster, smart, more agile
ran around and up a tree.

It jolted in a stupid way,
surprised and mad from my attack.
It waved it's claws, but I was gone
from where I'd jumped onto it's back

I led the beast so far away
then doubled back to let it roam
I calmed the young and tiny creature,
tracked my way to lead it home.

Once there I met another cat,

We're just a tiny speck of pink
In a map filled with dark red
Just a tiny speck of safety
In a silent land of dread

But Vellamo guards our waters
And we, soldiers and cats, we all
We all together guard this base
Keuruu will never fall
- by Ffaunax

Witch from wooded wilds of Finland,
thus began to speak his spells and
sing the words great of creation
magics with his voice awaken,
mighty thus his powers put forth.

Fire flickered in the winds and
earth it trembled, waters gushed forth,
spirits summoned knelt before him,
harkened all the gods, creators.
- by Mikko Ojala (I'll put the finnish version on the non-english poetry thread.)

Page 91

The streets are quiet now
the windows dark
On sidewalks, only the echo of thousands of thundering footsteps is left

The windings of dark alleys now empty, breathe
and balconies stretch, relieved of their burden of life.

Only its memories linger

As we watch the flames free the thelephone lines into chaos
we know
after centuries
the city finally sleeps
eternal

Little Emil, full of fire
Helps cleanse the world of plagues most dire
By boat or train he'll travel far
But his people skills are still sub par
- by Sir. Orc

Fire, fire, join the choir
This the Silent World require
Cleansing by the flame

Strong young lads and brighteyed lasses
come and join the flaming masses
Silent World you claim

When you go into the landscape
Cross the border's ticker tape
Who will see you came?

Troll and Beast are roaming free
are you then prepared to see
Will you be the same?

Will you cleanse it all and burn?
or come back with what you learn? (or at all)
Is it all a game?

Though it may be an adventure
Never trust in this indenture
Please! Stand Still, Stay Silent
