Thank you guys! I'm happy hearing about the things people found nice about it.

About the mod hat: it goes very well with the squirrel! Makes me feel like I'm being led through the Forum Forest by a wilderness expert. I'll have to brush up on the Lore though.

And IMO the squirrel would be a nice mascot of some sort :P

The squirrel fitts very well with how I imagined them in the story. For some reason I thought: "Of course the Mod Hat is a baseball cap." But maybe there could be other hat shapes as well?

Thanks catbirds for posting this. It’s impressive art like this that I like SSSS for. Grumpy Lalli is cute somehow.

yes, it's a nice work! Well done!

And I'm glad that you like the squirrel and the hat. :) In my headcanon (and in my story) each of us has a mirror squirrel in a paralell universe that is connected with the SSSS universe, so in Oak Town there's a squirrel named catbirds doing beautiful art. ;)

And of course there's a squirrel named Groupoid! As for the Mod Hat I guess each moderator would have it's own style. Let's see if Jitter and Gweeno drop by to tell us how their mod hats would look like. :)

In one of the "farm life given the Disney treatment" video games I've played, the English translation name of the town is Oak Tree Town, so I keep needing to remember the Oak Town being discussed here is not the one in which my (human) character is married to a local guy and has a pair of fraternal twins... Otherwise, the joke about me having a counterpart there would have almost written itself.

My mod hat is a felt hat with fairly wide brim, shaped kind of like this person is wearing: https://unsplash.com/photos/_SciMIZ0Xow

But it’s not black. I think it’s maybe dark orange, when I’m human. When I’m squirrel, it’s dark green. And when I’m Vellamo the Water Mother it’s blue and green like water in a river that runs in a forest.

Yep, works for me, too.  It's possible you were affected by that widespread internet outage, seeing as how the original site is a stock photo site?
Very stylish chapeau.

Dunno. Phone and internet are both being weird at present. I was on the phone a few minutes ago to my husband (Star is still in hospital) when the phone suddenly cut off with no notice and then wouldn’t ring. When it eventually did ring we couldn’t hear one another. Very annoying!

Funny hat: check. So very ready to explore this thread *.*

While I'm feeling all smug about mastering the <insert pictures from tumblr>, here's a couple of silly things :

Madumb, that Lalli's a kitten was really funny. Of course, the two non-mages don't understand anything while grandma knows exactly why Onni is insisting Lalli's a kitten-- and just calmly corrects that No. Lalli's a lynx.

It would be really rare for luonto to be a non-native animal. Speculating is fun though...

I think Eino (from prologue) is a swan (that's why he painted it on his boat).
