With Glurps And Glops, It Starts To Pop

It glops and glurps
While it scurries low
Glowing bulging orbs
In the dim light grow.

With blade, in one gesture,
Emil quickly unsheathes,
But it starts to rupture
In the gloom of the heath.

They need pay it no heed,
It's already self-injured.
Immediately they need to
Pack up and leave unhindered.

Before they have any more
They need to get out of there.
But in the front of the store
The scout still stands and stares...
A man left his Icelandic home
Escaped to Denmark to freely roam
With hair braided red
He got hit on the head
With a crate lid slammed onto his dome

Adventure 2, Page 238

He pulls the dagger from the sheath
He folds his brow, he grits his teeth
It’s time to fight, not time for flight
He’s on his heels, his foe to meet

But lo! Perhaps his job is done
The creature flails beneath the sun
It feels the light, then in his sight
Its boils start bursting, one by one

So leave your foe to slowly die
And run from here with your supplies
For more will come before you’re done
No time to fight, it’s time to fly

Adventure 2, Page 239

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger
Twists your limbs and makes them longer
Fills your veins and fills your brain and
Swells with pain (but this is stronger)

What doesn’t kill you makes you faster
Tears your skin and makes it master
Brings the night and brings the blight and
Hides the light (but this is faster)

What doesn’t kill you makes you better
Takes your thoughts and makes them fetters
Kills your fear and kills what’s dear and
Keeps you here (but this is better)
I write poetry sometimes.

Adventure 2, Page 241

The solution to the problem
That stands at the door
And batters the glass til it falls to the floor

Is to stand and stay silent
And shoulder your guns
And shoot it and shoot it til swiftly you run

But beneath the dark doorway
And in the dark woods
Are countless more dangers who’d come if they could

So don’t think that your problem
Is easily solved
Don’t dally in daylight lest daylight gets old
I write poetry sometimes.

Pg 240

Interrupted Yell, Obstructed, Repelled

While it's fully sprinting
He barely lets out a yell.
The window gets imprinted,
Can hardly call "Mik-kelll!"

In the middle of his plea,
A mighty splitting "KRANG!"
He had to make and flee
From the bearing claws and fangs.

The foremost one, Lalli,
Moments from weird, ugly hell.
Fortune favoured there was he,
For the creature was repelled.

---------------------------------

Pg 241

Calm Down, Blam, Run Around

Their attention is attained
While the cracked glass beheld.
What do the cracked window panes
In these circumstances spell?

The window yet holds firm,
Though fractured, in truth.
Will it survive another storm,
Can it still be monster-proof?

"Stay calm." says the man of muscle,
"We will simply gun this one down."
No longer staying still or subtle,
They will use the loudest sounds.

Lest some others get them caught,
Their weaponry will blast it.
When the thing is dead and shot,
They will swiftly run past it.
A man left his Icelandic home
Escaped to Denmark to freely roam
With hair braided red
He got hit on the head
With a crate lid slammed onto his dome

And I saw yours! :)
I love poetry, and will surely give it a try sooner than later, but right now other things have been distracting me from that, including our little game and my next story. But at any moment the muses may visit me and the Vogons will finally have competition!

Pg 242

Acid Head Jet, They'll Get Dead Wet

While the three discuss plans,
The creature makes ready.
An aperture expands,
Fluids jet out and stream deadly.

Corrosion splashes and dissolves
The feet and ground on which it walks.
The window before this evolved
Is no longer an obstacle to block.

Making short work of the window,
The panels proving no problem.
The group must urgently go
Ere the monstrosity claims them.

Thank you, thegreyarea and Jitter, I'm glad you like the poetry we put on the thread! You've probably already seen our poetry in the comments anyway, but it's nice to share it somewhere that's more easily accessible to others for later than somewhere buried under the endless mountain of comments.

Adventure 2, Page 242

It boils and bubbles like pus-filled pustules, stinging and swirling and tearing and trapping itself in your skin like the shards of dark whispers that are trapped in your mind.

And it swells and grows and stays as you wait and watch and run until your legs crumple beneath you and the air that seemed so thin is suddenly solid and it cracks like a bone splintering under your skin and then, only then, when you’re battered and bruised and fallen, only then does it come out, bursting out of you like water bursts out of a broken pipe.

The glass melts. The glass melts as if it was never there at all, dripping and pooling onto the ground, and behind it, the fragile film of separation broken, you feel their heat and you feel their breath and you feel their fear seeping and creeping through your body and finding its place and sitting with your own in the cold, sharp void that is what has become of your mind.

And all you want in this one moment is to feel their fear as it stings and swirls and swells until it spills over and pools on the floor, as their bodies melt and fall like glass and finally, finally, their fear is released and they are released and all you really want is release because you are afraid and you are trapped here and you are battered and bruised and terrifyingly, torturously alive.

I made audio recordings of a couple of my poems (me being the one reading them, of course). THey're not perfect, and I think my dog is barking in the background of one of them, but I thought you guys might enjoy it.

The title of each track corresponds to the page it was written on, as I am very bad at thinking of titles.

Well, maybe not perfect but pretty damn close! The one for 220 brings tears to my eyes (probably did when I read it too) 😍

I'm so glad to have you around! That's fantastic! Your voice is so nice, and the way you read them... I could feel the emotions below, particularly on 220 that, as Jitter noted, touches deep.
(now excuse me, there's something in my eye...)

Thank you, thegreyarea and Jitter, I'm really glad you liked the recordings. I'll probably make a few more over the next few weeks, now that I've got a hosting site and all.

Pg 243

It's Puking Acid? Don't Shoot At It

"Is that thing puking acid
At us?" The Swede inquires.
Yes, Emil, it is indeed,
So no-one should open fire.

Nobody shoot at it,
The glass will shatter.
Its body will spurt acid
And all over them splatter.

No weapon shot spraying,
And no bomb detonations.
They must find another way
To get out of the situation.

Their grenades and guns
Can give no aid there.
Kitty, Reynir and Sigrun
As three helpless spectators.

Avoid without blasting,
Afford no further delay.
With every moment passing,
More will join in the fray.

Thanks thegreyarea and jitter for the encouragement. I am encouraged.
