I know there are a few other hardcore aRTD fans out there, so please, don't leave me alone in this thread! ::)
...when you know the names of all the secondary characters.
...when you know that Jonna is the girl and Joona is the boy, and you're quick to correct anyone who gets them wrong.
...when you can't see a girl with red curly hair and not think of Paju.
...when you dream that there was an aRTD animated series, and you spent most of your dream having a fangirl attack.
...when in said dream you tried to convince everyone to watch it with you, and your family kept rolling their eyes at your enthusiasm.
...when the whole series was in finnish, and you had ANOTHER fangirl attack.
...when Hannu had brown hair in the series, and you spent a long time ranting about how inaccurate that was.
-
For what it is worthy, I think that ARtD would make a great TellTale-style game.
-
When you want to name your dog as Ville
-
When....
-You track the tumblr tag obsessively and get REALLY EXCITED when you discover something was posted in it
-...And then get disappointed when you realize it was something you just posted.
-When there are under 10 fanworks in the aRTD section on ao3 and almost all of them were posted by you. /coughs
-When you have two aRTD stories in the works and at least three on the drawing board and you keep getting ideas and it's wonderful but also a little distressing.
-When you keep gushing about it in your journal/blog/etc, in hopes that your friends will read it, because you know it's very relevant to their interests but at the same time you don't want to be too pushy.
-When you love, love, love Hannu even though he's a total jerk (and in fact that's part of why you love him)
-
When you want to name your dog as Ville
When you want to have a finnish spitz because of that same reason.

ALL OF THIS, YES
-When you have two aRTD stories in the works and at least three on the drawing board and you keep getting ideas and it's wonderful but also a little distressing.
Please, keep getting ideas. *sends some more in your direction*
When the ONLY ONE fanfiction you have EVER written is aRTD (but it is probably never seeing sunlight because it is terrible).
When you re-read the whole comic and must do your best not to cry in the end. :'(
-
-when you got to the end the first time and LITERALLY STARTED CRYING IN THE MIDDLE OF PHYSICS and had to pretend that it was because physics is just so beautiful, you all. it's amazing. look at that velocity-time graph. so good
no i'm not holding a grudge. me?? nooooo
-
- when you lived for a three days at your uncle's place, just because his neighbor is a proud owner of a finnish spitz.
I'm not allowed even to look at the direction of this dog though.
-
...when you don't particularly like dogs - except the Finnish spitz ::)
-
When you spend most of your time working on artd/ssss crossover edits instead of working on the art style swap /cough
Also, when you have read the whole comic about 12 times and you have all of ville's forms memorized in order (dog, squirrel, snake, moose, bear, rabbit, swan, human)
-
...When your phone autocorrects "Hannu" to "Hannibal" and you immediately start trying to figure out whether an aRTD + NBC Hannibal crossover could even work.
...When you keep making Dreamwidth/LJ journal icons of aRTD art even though you have plenty already and if you aren't careful you won't have any slots left. (Thiiiis one is probably just me...)

...When you discover that "It has a cute dog in it!" is the perfect way to get some of your friends to give in and finally read aRTD, and you decide to remember this for the future, in order to use it to your advantage.
...When you ask your friends to draw you aRTD fanart even though they haven't actually read it and only know it via osmosis from you. *Not recommended unless you know they're cool with drawing from canons they're unfamiliar with, of course.

-when you say 'I'm not that obsessed with it' and your friends just kinda look at you like BI(is that even a face it is now)

......when you look at that emoticon and immediately think Hannu
-
...When you consider making a list of all of aRTD's many referred to but unexplained ridiculous incidents.
...And when the reason you are considering this is because you want to write fic about said ridiculous incidents.

Would the Barn Incident be on that list? XD

I don't remember the Barn Incident. Clearly I'm not enough of an aRTD addict! Refresh my memory, please? : D

Shed...Barn....I mix up words -__-
OH well, there we go then. And here I was thinking that there was one that I missed. : D Which would have actually been good, as it would have been yet another ridiculous situation to put Hannu in.... ;p
-
When you get your second worst grade at University immediately after discovering ARTD (because you spent the entire three days before the deadline reading it, re-reading it, and then going back and forth to re-read your favourite parts. It was during a fairly cliff-hangy part as well which didn't help matters...) and you REGRET NOTHIIIIIING!
Also, when you see a guy who looks exactly like Hannu at a pub and try to talk to him and nobody can understand why you're so happy that he seems to be a total jerk :P
-

Wait, you met RL Hannu?
I am so jealous.
-
... When you page through the aRTD site to look up a specific thing, but as soon as you do that, you start just re-reading it. Again. For the tenth time.
(It's probably been more than ten times.)
-
when I started watching Sailor moon (for the first time because never seen before) and the (redhaired) teacher reminded me of Paju all the time I saw her. and I wanna call the teacher now Paju
-
When the first thing you learned how to draw after deciding to teach yourself art was the hannunvaakuna... and you have been drawing it on everything ever since...
When you have typed the word hannunvaakuna so many times, it shows up as an auto-complete option every time you type hann...
-
When you see the word "art", and you immediately think someone's talking about aRTD, until you notice the missing letter.

Haha, you guys. : D
Well, you might be able to find similar pendants if you poke around the internet, since it's just a stylized version of the looped cross design. But the specific one I have is from a Czech reenactment company called Wulflund, their site is easy to find with some searching.
It's made out of steel, so it's a little heavier than what I usually wear, but mannn I love it. : D A wood one would probably be more accurate to comic, though... If I had any skill for woodworking, I'd have gone that route. ^^

Oh, sorry, I probably should have linked it. There (https://www.wulflund.com/jewelry/forged-jewelry-torcs/endless-knot-forged-pendant.html/).
But since it's a basic design it is probably possible to find from others as well. ^^

This is really pretty, Yuuago!
I'm thinking of asking my father to make a wooden one for me this summer, probably with a leather cord.

*_* That's an awesome idea! Since it'd be made by a relative, it would be extra-special.
Now, more aRTD addict nonsense: When you change your netbook wallpaper to something aRTD-related in hopes that someone at the meetup you're going to will notice and ask what that super cool art is from... orz
-
When you add the aRTD ebook to your decrepit 1st-generation discontinued eReader so that you can read it on the go, even if it means reading it in black and white.
It actually looks kind of cool in greyscale! Only problem is that the text is a bit tricky to read at this size. (But then again, I've read it a million times, so it isn't as if I don't know how it goes...)
-
Yuuago: Wow, it really looks nice in black and white! Are you already on that stage of addiction where you know (even if only vaguely) all the dialogue? I think I know most of the dialogue of the first chapter by heart. e__e
-

It does! (I'm surprised this thing can read PDFs at all, amazing) Hmmm for some chapters, I have it almost-memorized. : D But for the earlier ones, not as much. I've re-read Chapter4 the most, so that's the one where I have most of the dialogue by heart.

I cannot fathom rereading just one chapter of a book. How do you refrain from reading everything at once? What is your secret?!
-

Sheer force of will! Actually, a lot of the re-reads have been due to needing a refresher for fic purposes. The twins have the most bulk panel time in ch4, so aside from the Graveyard sidecomic, it's one of the best sources for insight into characterization and their relations with Hannu and so on. Since I re-read it with a specific goal in mind, it's easier not to get carried away.
... Though a lot of the time I do end up getting sucked in and reading a lot of ch5 or skipping to ch7 or... Well. ;p It's easy to get lost in it.

reading PDFs isn't a problem, but reading a file *that big*!! (really, mine crashed on me for one or two things I expect would be smaller than aRTD)
for ease of reading, you can maybe switch your device to landscape mode. It might do slightly ugly panel-cropping, but the text will be 50% bigger

Unfortunately, this one can't switch page orientation, to my knowledge. :'D (It's very old/basic). But that's okay. It's juuuust big enough to read (not that the photo makes it obvious, but eh).
And another one:
When you get very excited because a new entry came up on Ao3's RSS feed for aRTD fic-
... but it's the thing you just uploaded. -_-
Related: the fact that you have said RSS feed on your watch list, period.

Aww, Yuu... *pat pats*
I do this all the time with the aRTD tag on tumblr... :-\
Now I feel that I should try writing something too, just so you don't feel alone out there.
... when you are helping out in a thrift shop and you notice that there is an old sweater with a pattern that resembles the hannunvaakuna and you can't help but get a little excited.
-
When you
accidentally reread ARTD after quoting part of it to someone... Again...
-
When you keep pestering your friend, who works as a baker, with questions and more questions (and sometimes very silly questions) for the purpose of fic research.
"Do you come home smelling like baked goods? Which scents stick to you the most? Does it linger on your clothes even up through to the next day? What about burnt bread smell? Please tell me about your most memorable kitchen disaster...."
Bonus: You got them to read aRTD. : D
-
When your aunt and uncle are talking about a bakery that their friend runs and you can barely hold in your laughter because aRTD
-
When you just kind of give up and accept that aRTD is your ultimate comfort canon.
When you have over 15k total in the works for various WIPs, and more on the way.
...When you re-read part of it and find yourself identifying with Hannu more than you should, probably. (My inner Hannu-ness is very tightly restrained, I try not to inflict it on people ;V )
Everything is aRTD and nothing hurts. Bury me with this comic, honestly. Well, okay, one thing hurts, and it's the fact that I don't have the book, but I will endure.
-
...When you re-read part of it and find yourself identifying with Hannu more than you should, probably. (My inner Hannu-ness is very tightly restrained, I try not to inflict it on people ;V )
I know... I feel so much like Hannu every day. "Homework? Why can't I just sleep?"
Also, You know you are an aRTD addict when you are neglecting the art style swap to do aRTD fanart... (http://i.imgur.com/c7NJRa2.gif)

Hahahaha I've been thinking for a long while that you liking aRTD is no coincidence, no matter how much you think you're restraining your Hannu-ness! Example: page 406.
-

*Pensive. Now wonders if she has to imagine Yuu as someone with a rabbit on his head* ^^

Oh look, it's my general approach to difficulties in life, all summed up in one page. ;p WELL I suppose I should just be glad that the example you chose is "lovable grumpy slightly-charred cinnamon roll" Hannu, rather than "amoral jerkface" Hannu....
-

A website I read has ads provided by "adrta.com." This may have caused a double-take the first time I noticed.
-
You know you're an aRTD addict when you're wearing your hannunvaakuna necklace (I guess that's a sign there) and when someone asks what it is you go to find the page where Hannu explains it. ::)
-
So I got this ad earlier and... wait what's that logo?!

...When you FINALLY capture a Gym in Pokemon Go, and you're quickly trying to think of a name for the Hypno you're going to put in there, since you don't normally name them, and... the first thing that comes to mind is an aRTD character.
(The name that popped into my head was... Samuli. Which is odd, considering he isn't one of my favourite characters, but ah well~)

I could see that, I think a hypno kind of fits Samuli ? I mean, hypnos seem kind of stoic and serious like Samuli and he seems like the type that would go for psychic type pokemon.

Oh no...now I'm tempted to name Pokemon after all the aRTD characters. And all the SSSS characters. *starts thinking about what kinds of Pokemon they would be*
-

Huh. When you put it that way, I can see it!

Doooo iiiiit!
I'm only just now starting to give them actual names... and will probably continue with the aRTD/SSSS names until I run out of possibilties. xD In addition to the above, I've named my starter Bulbasaur Vuokko. <3 (Never going to transfer that one, in spite of the hella low combat points.)
-

I've been thinking about posting screenshots of my pokemon and their names because I have quite a few names after SSSS characters, I have a Meowth named Lalli, a Venemoth named Tuuri, a Pidgeot named Onni, a Tauros named Mikkel, and a Flareon named Emil (but if I can get a ninetails I'm changing that to being my team's Emil) I've been waiting to catch a fighting type before I name anything Sigrun . .
But aRTD characters I don't know why I didn't think of that buuuut now that's a whole new arsenal of names.

When you want a Finnish Spitz, but your mom said no.
And you would definitely name it Ville.
-
It may or may not have crossed my mind a few times that I want either a Finnish Spitz or Icelandic sheepdog for similar reasons . . except I might also be too in love with huskies to ever want another type of dog. But a mix between a husky and either of those two types sounds gorgeous and awesome ~
-
Personally, I'd be happy enough with a plush one. < 3 But yeahh those dogs are way too cute.
-
of course, we all want a finnish spitz now LOL

On second thought, yes, this is a much better idea...plushie Ville! I wonder if I could make one...not that I need any more projects...

I read the whole bloody thing in the span of a day, I suppose that counts as an addiction.

Hah : D I'd say that definitely counts. < 3!

(You know you're an aRTD addict when) You're still obsessed with comic even though it finished many years ago, and am working on a fan video and planning a cosplay.
Also, you love Winter and Autumn "because it's aRTD season!"
