Same here, both the strict kinds (where everything you bring must be pre-approved or according to a list) and free ones. The latter tends to be an interesting mismatch of whatever catches people's fancy, the former... it might feel restricting or intimidating, all depending on just how serious the organizers' take on accuracy is.

Anyway, Taru didn't know what a church building was and Tuuri actually believed that thing about Swedes' feet, so I'm wagering the Finnish team members would be the most confused ones! :D

Don't tempt me! I once read a charming SF short story about some reenactors in the far future who were running together cultural items from the Roman Empire, Elizabethan England and 1950s America and thinking it authentic. The author had obviously been to a few Ren Faires.
