The eruption JoB and Róisín commented went on for a period of 54 days, so much longer than the three smaller ones. Then it went quiet for a while, but now it’s started again. The eruption number 8 since 2021 started with force on May 29th but has since reduced in volume. There are currently no residents in Grindavik, but businesses are operating so worker so were quickly evacuated along with the Blue Lagoon and the Svartsengi power plant that sits on the magma reservoir that keeps pumping out these eruptions. Luckily for Icelanders, so far the eruptions have been away from the power plant.

In other news, Iceland is about to enter a HEATWAVE with temperatures soaring up to 20 Celsius! Oh the sweltering! The news headline on ruv.is is “Northeast to be hit by heatwave” and the picture is a drawing of a person wiping sweat from their head

OPPONENTS: @JoB is likely to fill this role, challenging the writer on perceived points of error or weakness so that the writer can make the work stronger.

Two points about the system as a whole:

• It seems to consider the fact that people can (and do) fill several of these roles as an invariant(?) characteristic of the (pair of) person(s). I would posit that it can change with time (as usual for personal relations, I suppose) as well as context (like I'm particularly likely to comment/oppose where the work in question dives into technological specifics).
• Having that said, I'm not sure why these categories, however loose they may be in practice, would only apply to relations between writers ... (though I'm not at all a friend of stuffing everyone into drawers, Myers-Briggs style)
