... that's a problem now? It never was until the day I decided they're a bit too snoopy for my tastes ...

Being taught that every window is an exit.

Looking at your to-do list and finding that some of the stuff there is so ancient that "I would need to find out what I was supposed to do in the first place" alone is enough of a deterrent to steer you away from those tasks.
